The Saphir Beauté du Cuir Pate de Luxe shoe polish in black is without question the best product I have ever used for achieving a true high gloss finish. During my time in the Royal Air Force maintaining a professional appearance was essential and polished shoes were a daily requirement. This stuff is magic. On decent shoes, it needs very little effort to achieve a shine that a Buckingham Palace Guardsman would be proud of. Apply it generously and buff with a soft cloth. No need for brushes, or endless rubbing. Once your shine develops, add a little water to the duster and buff lightly again and you'll be amazed.

Regarded as probably the best shoe polish, but it's not really that much better than any other competent polish. There are some brands to be avoided, but the high price of this one doesn't make it all that much better than other effective ones. However, it is VERY good polish. Good ingredients (including turpentine). Beautiful shine that does last well.

Many years ago when I was a cadet I used either Kiwi black or Kiwi Parade Gloss for my parade shoes and to be fair both wax's worked just fine in achieving a mirror gloss finish. I thought I would try the Saphir range of show products so I decided to purchase the "Paite de Luxe" now, I am going to compare this wax with the more expensive Saphire "Medaille Dor" wax. For me the Pate de Luxe works just fine, if not easier to work with complared to ther Medaille Dor, with a quality cotton cloth, this wax will layer very well and achieve a mirror gloss. Just buy this one - it will do exactly what you want it to do.
