This device is GREAT. Put the two AAA batteries in (came with it). I also watched the video. Used it today as I needed to replace a basic light switch. Came in VERY handy. I also have been watching my dad use his old two-wand test meter from the 1970s. This is SO MUCH EASIER and it works!!!!!! When the line is hot, the red light goes on and you get a warning noise. If the line is cold the device light remains green. Just told my daughter to buy this for my dad for Christmas.

Great little tester. Durable, long lasting battery, easy to use, and works great. Not a cheap unit, and easy to read voltage meter .

Works as it should. Not crazy about how the two AAA batteries are installed under black cap. Be very careful installing because the small metal tangs bends very easily and can cause intermittent operation if not touching the board contacts perfectly.

Great bit of kit if you want to stay alive when testing your outlets and cables

Klein Is known for its quality tools. They last longer and perform better than cheaper alternatives. I have some other Klein tools at home that seem to have lasted forever. I've tested this and it works perfectly

For a few years I have had an "older" version of this the of device which is a bit less accurate. Time for the inexpensive upgrade and it has already paid for itself in peace of mind and saving me from aggravation (not to mention saving me from getting shocked!). I have found these tester/indicators to be indispensable for both peace of mind and in tracking down that loose connection. I'm a DYR'er and my knowledge of home electrical, or lack of it, dictates I use these type of tools for safety's sake. The fact they aide in troubleshooting is a bonus! In comparing two devices (this and my older model) in a recent troubleshoot, I found this to be accurate and useful in isolating my issue. There are more "expensive" and technical non-contact voltage testers out there and if you are a professional, you probably already have one. If you are undertaking a large project, you might want to consider what you one. But I have found this one does the trick and using a second device for verification proved it. For an amateur like me who will use this once or twice a year, this is a sensible addition to any tool tray. Use it once and you will agree it is worth the meager investment.

This is a must have for any jacks of all trades like I am. I already had one, but I couldn’t find it so I ordered this. This works perfectly and gives you a great layer of safety when doing electrical. It’s a bit pricey on Amazon, but I needed it quickly and it works as described. Klein tools are good quality.

Já tive diversos testadores de energia, desde os clássicos ao digital em corpo de termômetro, aos novos testadores sonoros de marcas white label chinesas, este se destacou claramente. Ao ligar emite uma luz verde que indica seu funcionamento, sensibilidade grande sem precisar enfiar sua ponta chata (indicada para tomadas americanas) no orifício de plugs elétricos, ele detecta tensão apenas na superfície. Ele tem uma sensibilidade que varia entre 50 e 1000 Volts e funciona em alguns cabos de carregadores para celular com ainda menos voltagem. Essa sensibilidade é destacada por bips diferenciados como um detector de metal que bipa lentamente para mais distante (voltagens baixas) e mais instigantemente para voltagens mais altas como 220V da minha região. Sua estrutura é mais robusta e melhor construída que as concorrentes, na foto mostra uma das que mencionei. Para uma ferramenta de detecção de energia para se trabalhar em segurança eu dou nota 10. Se você precisa de algo mais especifico do que isso recomendo procurar outro tipo de ferramenta. Recomendo!
