It would only set up after I had temporarily enabled the visibility of wireless clients on my home network (by default I disable this on my guest network). After this temporary change was made on my router, it was easy to add the device to the mobile app. Note that on my socket after the long press of the power button the flashing of the blue light was difficult to see due to the brightness of the red LED but it did work as expected.Once installed the socket can be turned on & off as expected but the ONLY reason I bought this was because of the photo on the product page that showed power usage being monitored. This function is not available so the device cannot be used as I intended.Update 16/06/17 - The seller STW has corrected the item description, so I can confirm that the item is now correctly described and pictured. Additionally, I have been offered a reasonable partial refund so they also have good after sales service. I have updated the review from my initial 3 stars to 5 stars.

Here is my review of this WiFi Smart plug from Lamaston.This is a really great device, perfect for hard to reach sockets!In the past I've had lots of the rf frequency remote sockets, but they always seem to stop working properly or you lose the remote - not with this one as I can control it from my phone!I have lots of wifi lights that I use all the time, but I also have a lamp that isn't wifi so I'm using this little wifi socket to turn it on and off.I'm really pleased with the wifi plug, it is easy to operate from the app.Overall, it works well, seems well made and is a welcome solution to the problem of hard to reach sockets.I would recommend.Thanks for reading my Review.

When I downloaded the app, it demanded access to EVERYTHING on my phone, including files contacts etc which weren't needed to operate this simple gadget. As I'm not stupid, I was never able to do use this, as I refused to install the app. Waste of 15 quid.AMAZON PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS REVIEW, people need to know.

Bought 2 before Christmas. Both had the red flashing light by February. Waste of money. Allegedly £60 reduced to £15.

This wifi socket is amazing.What a fun and comfortable experience to laying on the bed to control my living room light!APP is very simple to figure out how to use.
