Men's Expedition Field Post Solar 36mm Watch

Great looking watch, easy to read. Lume is a bit lacking but overall a good effort from Timex. Thickness is around 10mm not the 8.5 stated in the details.

A good looking watch with a clear dial. Seems to be keeping good time so far, so very pleased.

Great grab and go watch which is well made. I just wish the hands were better quality, they are very cheap and don't match the overall quality of the watch.

Very gooooooooood

I love the 36mm case width - it's in my sweet spot of 34-38mm (my wrist size is 6.75"). The watch sits comfortably on my wrist & it's proportions look good. The watch needs to be charged when you take it out of the box. It initially tries to move the second hand but because of the low battery warning mechanism, the second hand motion skips instead of smoothly ticking each second ... you need to leave the watch in daylight for a few hours to initially charge the battery fully for first use, after which the hand movement is normal. The black dial has a roughened surface texture, which is noticeable at oblique angles to outdoor light, but otherwise not an issue & the dial numbers & hands are clearly visible. The lume on the hands works OK, and the dial numbers are also lumed & visible in the dark when the lume has been charged with light. The supplied 18mm brown leather strap is usable & looks good - I've interchanged it with 18mm black & brown leather and black silicone straps, and they pair well with the watch head.

I’ve been waiting for this Timex model to become available on Amazon for ages. At 37 mm, it’s sleek and very comfortable to wear. Most importantly, the solar battery gives peace of mind; you don’t have to worry about it dying at the wrong moment, and it should last for 7+ years. It’s completely silent, with no ticking noise. The sapphire crystal is another big plus; it’s resistant to scratches (I’ve accidentally dropped it a couple of times and it still looks flawless). The only potential downside is that the 36 mm size and thin profile might feel a bit small for some people. That said, it’s perfect for office wear and easily fits under shirt cuffs, which makes it very practical. Also, be aware that it looks shinier in person than in the pictures. The white dial appears brighter but it pairs nicely with silver-toned garments (rings etc.).

This watch has everything that I was looking for! A great size for small to medium wrists while remaining tactical and suitable for almost every occasion. Having the ability to charge from the sun or any light, being water-resistant for up to 100 meters (10atm) and having a sapphire crystal gives me the feeling that this watch can last forever! The back of the watch also looks amazing. The only catch that this watch might have is the band that is delivered with this specific model. Although it feels good and is made well, it doesn't seem to be as durable as the watch itself. It has a few marks from wearing it for only one day. Yes I know that leather naturaly gets some wearing marks and some may say that that's the charm of leather straps but I'm not one of them. It's a good strap but not as great as the watch. A Nato or Zulu strap could make this watch a truly outdoor King. That's thanks to the 18mm lug to lug width possible and easy. And yes, it really is a 18mm lug to lug width although 17mm are advertised. It is stated to be 18mm on the case back and also on the official Timex side. Overall, Timex has created a watch that could be the last one that you ever need to buy. It seems to be built for lasting a lifetime. I'm personally so impressed by this watch that I will definitely pick up another Timex watch, maybe a Waterbury diver or something like that. Thanks Timex, you created a watch that has everything I wanted!

The best watch I have so far. First, it is accurate and reliable and I don't need or want date. Second it has sapphire so it is better protected against scratches etc. The dial is easy to read the numbers. The band is the most comfortable I've ever had because it is soft leather and not plastic. It does not rotate around the wrist like the stiffer bands. The cost is not cheap but worth the money and you don't get indiglow of course because it is solar charged so backlight is blocked by the solar cell.

Great size and good accuracy

El tamaño para una muñeca de 16,5cm es perfecto. La legibilidad es muy buena para el tamaño reducido del reloj (36mm). Incluye cristal de zafiro, y caja de acero mate que le da un estilo “militar - vintage” genial. De momento el funcionamiento es correcto, en dos semanas no hay atraso ni si quiera de un segundo. Como puntos negativos, el sistema de rosca de la corona no es todo lo refinado que me gustaría (quizás tuve expectativas demasiado altas esperando que funcionase como relojes suizos más caros) y el anclaje de la correa, que siendo muy cómodo al ser de liberación rápida, hay cierta holgura y es el punto más endeble o débil del reloj. Mi valoración sería de 8/10, siendo muy cómodo de llevar, buenos materiales, buen diseño y una compra estupenda por el precio pagado
