I am impressed with the high PAR levels produced by this small grow light.
I was looking for a small LED grow light to supplement lighting for the end of a 5-foot shelf since most lighting will cover only 4 feet. This small plant light is almost overkill for my lighting needs on this shelf. This light is extremely bright when set to 100%, but most important is the quality of the light which is measured with a PAR meter. This light is on a shelf that I am growing cherry tomato bushes which require full sun for at least 12 hours. I have found the PAR levels for this light to be far superior to other small LED lights I have had. So, what do I like about this grow light? 1) In addition to being very bright, the PAR levels produced are excellent. When set at 50% and 13" above the plants, the PAR level is 747 which is more than enough for the cherry tomato plants. 2) The intensity of the light is easily adjustable with a dial on the end of the light. This mean that the intensity of the light can be adjusted for seedlings, or small to large plants without having to adjust the height of the light. If you prefer to adjust the height of the light, pulley are included with this light. 3) The cord length is plenty long to reach an electrical outlet and an extension cord can be used to extend it. 4) This plant light works perfectly with a timer. 5) This light can be daisy chained to another light to cover larger areas which eliminates the need to find an outlet for each light. 6) A supplied dimming cable can be used to control the light intensity of all lights on the chain from one light. 7) The light from this plant light penetrates the leaf canopy to encourage new plant growth below the canopy. 8) This light is extremely easy to set up and use. 9) This light provides more consistent PAR readings even on the outer edges of the lighted area. I am currently using 3 of these lights on a 2' x 5' plant shelf to provide lighting for bush tomato plants, and have installed them so the longer side is perpendicular to the side of the shelf. So this light sufficiently lights the 2' width of the shelf. By spacing them on the 5' shelf, the crossover lighting of the lights equalizes the lighting to the plants. Considering the height of these plants, I have all of them set at 60% which saves on electricity. Since these light penetrate the plant canopy, I am seeing a lot of new growth on the plants within a couple of weeks. UPDATE 03/09/26: Since my initial review, I have bought 6 more of these lights to cover 2 shelves on a 5' 2' shelving unit. I have all 6 lights daisy chained, so only one plug goes into my timer. Since these lights do turn off by turning the light intensity dial to 0%, I can use each of these lights individually as needed. I plan to use this shelving unit to grow 6 bussing tubs of beets that I have started in one tub. At the height these lights are set, these plants will initially get 500 PAR of lighting while they are small which should be sufficient for seedling. As the plants grow and get taller, I will need to turn down the light intensity percentage. I am looking forward to a great harvest of beets and beet greens in about 4-5 months that will last us for a couple of years. I love that I can control the light intensity with a dial rather than having to physically raise and lower the lights. I have added pictures of my beet plants before transplant and the 5' shelf with the lights installed. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Good light
I think the light works really well however I like the 100w better myself due to the color tone but the plants like both I think. I think the fact it does not have an off is annoying especially considering the lower wattage and cost one does which is odd. I use a timer so it’s not that big of a deal but it might be to some. It doesn’t get hot, it functions well, it’s plenty bright and the size is good for the space I use it for too. It’s super easy to set up right out of the box and comes with adjustable hangers too. Other than the lack of the off option and the tone it puts out (compared to my many other ones) it’s still a good light at a good price(at the time I bought it). I’d buy it again but not at the current price and would opt for the 100w one over this one. Vipraspectra makes good grow lights though that are solid, a good value for what you get and reliable.

My succulent collection loves this light
I bought this light in January of 2026. I installed and it’s now June 2026. I use it for succulents. Didn’t raise my electric bill a ton, but it’s very bright and my echeveria love it. It’s too actually too bright for some of the species I have. Very easy to set up. No noise. Even for twelve hours at full power, it doesn’t get very hot. It’s a heavy light though but the ratchet straps it comes with are perfect. I think 6 pounds. Powerful and excellent light I highly recommend.

I grow HOT peppers!
I grow hot peppers (Ghosts, Reapers, Bhut Jolokias, Chocolates...like super-sonically HOT peppers). This light rocks! Full spectrum, and I can tell because we started Marigolds as 'guard' plants first. They grew so fast we had to transplant in 3 weeks. We're growing some of the hardest plants to grow we've ever done, Morning Glory (wild) "bush" plants. We've been told they are "impossible" to grow. After (3) years of 100% failures, we now have (6) plants started with (5) more getting ready to pop. The only thing different is this light. Again, these are "wild" Morning Glory "bushes; extremely difficult to grow...and they're coming up. The Morning Glory flower (plants) from Home Depot are easy to grow, but they're only annuals; these "bushes" are perennials and grow for decades...and they're gorgeous! Anyway, this light works really well. We've never been able to get many of the plants we start under these lights to start any other way. You do need to be careful with these lights though and not turn them up too high. They will rock your seedling's world. You can easily overheat or scorch young plants with this light, but the light is adjustable, so just know what intensity your plants need based on age.

This saved my outdoor plants
This grow light has been a great addition to my setup. It’s lightweight and easy to position, but still feels sturdy. The design is clean and modern, so it doesn’t look out of place indoors. I was also glad to see it doesn’t put off much heat, so I don’t have to worry about it stressing my plants or overheating the space. The light output is strong and consistent, and it definitely gets the job done. Overall, great balance of power and efficiency

Purchased for use with succulents, a sundew, and coleus plants
This review is for the 2024 XS1500 Pro model. I picked up one of these during a lightning deal about a month ago. There's a lot of options for lights like this one, and I was initially not interested in this model because it doesn't have LEDs evenly distributed across the panel. While doing more reading about the many other lights I ran across some information that explained how this model uses lenses to produce evenly distributed light. This was a very appealing feature as most lights have a very small strong center light zone and then a steep falloff around it. I then found a review video that did a pretty thorough analysis of the light distribution, tested with a high quality light meter, and the results were rather impressive. After having the light for a while, I have to say that it has been great. I run it at 50% power for ten hours per day, about ten inches above some succulents, coleus seedlings, and recently added a Cape Sundew. Despite getting not nearly enough sunlight through a north-facing window, with the addition of this light all of the plants are doing very well, with many showing sun stress colors. They are getting between 800 and 900 PPFD, depending on where they are located under the light, according to the Photone app. Mounting the light in wire shelving was very easy. The only thing I wasn't sure about was how to hang the ratcheting carabiner and rope, but I managed to figure that out. The included hardware would also allow hanging in a couple other methods. As others have mentioned, the light does not properly turn off unless you unplug it, have some other switch in line with the power cable, or connect it to a power strip and turn the strip off. I am using an outlet timer (ASIN: B014SGCN88) that I bought locally, and so far this arrangement has worked great. The power supply does get toasty even at 50% light output. I've not worried too much about the heat radiated from the light though as I am not using it inside a tent. It is drastically less heat than would be coming off of an incandescent bulb, that's for sure. So far the biggest benefit from using this light has been that since the light is so evenly distributed, I don't feel like I need to worry much about where the plants are positioned underneath it. I'd say that the PPFD charts that are shown in the product listing are pretty accurate. It really opens up a lot of area to put plants, rather than having that one small section with high PPFD, and trying to figure out which plant(s) need to be in that area. UPDATE ON 11-Aug-2024: I bought another one of these, received a few days ago. Viparspectra appears to have made some updates to this model. The brightness knob has been changed from 25% increments with 5% as the lowest setting on the first light I received, to 20% increments starting at 0%. So you can now turn the light off using the brightness knob. The power cable has changed from a non-detachable cable coming off of the same side as the brightness control, to a standard desktop computer-type power cable that plugs in on the end opposite the brightness knob. The daisy-chain setting has been moved from a switch to a spot on the brightness knob. The power supply on the first light did not have any branding on it, only model info and technical specs. This new one has Viparspectra branding along with the tech specs. The light output appears to remain great. So I'd say this revised version of the light is a good improvement, especially for those people who would like to be able to turn the light off on the brightness control.

Get Lit
Very bright well laid out grow lamp. It works so well I bought a second one to expand my grow area. Fully adjustable and robust construction make an excellent light for any grow you may have going. These are in my opinion the very best ones you can get for home use at a very good price. You will not be disappointed buying the XS1500. One of these took 2 cannabis plants from seed to harvest with impressive results.
