The most complete Movie Guide.
My dad has been buying it for more than 40 years, it is the most complete movie guide. Now my mom asked me for the latest edition, which is still excellent. Highly recommended.

My "Go-To" Movie Guide
Yes, I use the on-line movie review sites, and I use other books, but I (usually) find reviews by Leonard Maltin to be the most cogent of the lot. I first bought this book as Maltin's 2015 Movie Guide. (I am bummed that Mr. Maltin has not published an updated copy since). I used it so much that it wore out, so I bought a replacement, now labeled as Movies of the Modern Era. I was given an Amazon Fire 8 HD at Christmas, and bought the e-book version to have it handy on the device. This volume, along with Maltin's "Classic Movie Guide" make a good set of high quality movie reviews up to the year 2015.

If you want all the movies, except those made after its printing date, this is for you
My dad used an older edition of this to find out about movies and was getting more and more dated and missing more movies as they seem to come out with more every week. So with this he is back in the game with an updated and more complete list. For anyone that can't internets this is a fantastic replacement for IMDB, is made of paper which is weird to say the least. I hope they keep making these "book" thingamabobbers so we can get him next edition in 10 years.

It isn't comprehensive but good review comments
I watch a number of movies, primarily on TCM (Turner), Encore, and Netflix so I don't have to suffer thru repetitive and uninteresting commercials. I've looked for review on at least a dozen movies that are not in the book. What is there is informative but I also don't always agree with the number of rating stars that he places, some up, some down, some right on.

The quintessential movie guide
I have owned, enjoyed, and frequently referred to Leonard Maltin's movie guides since the 1980's. However, it had been nearly 20 years since my latest edition. So I was happy to buy this new edition, and thrilled to see it is the same excellent quality, with succint and informed reviews of thousands of movies, even more recent releases.

Legendary Movie Reviewer and Historian
I have been buying Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide for many years. I bought this edition as a replacement for my original 2015 copy which I have worn out. I have based my large physical disc collection on the books recommendations. I didn't always agree with the reviews but they were mostly very accurate. Even though the publication has ended I still seek his opinion about the new releases he chooses to see via his website. If you love films I recommend you have a look at his last edition.

Excellent refer manual for any movie buff
Excellent refer manual for any movie buff. Have not purchased one of these for a few years was therefore sorry to learn this was the last manual being produced by Leonard Maltin. Is unbeaten in it`s field. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great reviews and comprehensive movie listing
This book, last updated in 2015, includes a comprehensive listing of modern movies, rated with well-written reviews and some movie details. A very handy reference. Sometimes, it can be easier to reach out for this oversized pocket book, than to perform a Web search and try to find a suitable review for a movie you want to know more about!
