DI20B IR Illuminator | Long Range Infrared Flood Light for Security Camera (Black, w/Power Adapter)

Used this product to illuminate an outdoor PTZ camera. It's small, lightweight, and compact. It's NOT invisible at night to the naked eye, as the LED's on the device do have a red glow to them. The resultant IR light is good. I found that I can illuminate a larger area by bouncing the IR light off of an exterior wall and onto the surrounding area. This allows me to make the area close to the building highly visible, while giving sufficient illumination to the surrounding area. By facing the sensor toward the wall, the red glow immigrating from the LED's was not visible from street. I purchased the 30 ft cord, because the sensor was a distance from an electrical outlet. There was a small piece of heat shrink tubing included (with no instructions). I used this and a heat gun to help make the connection between the device and the extension a bit more water resistant. When using the extension, there are actually two connections, so I used an additional piece of heat shrink that I had laying around the house for the other connection. The hardware to install the device was included and there is an adjustable gimble that allows you to pretty-much adjust the angle any way you want. The devices works great and is inexpensive. Hopefully it will hold-up in the long run.

Installed 1 Dec 2023 and is a well-made solid product. It comes well packaged and with sufficient installation accessories. Installation was simple and additional cable can be purchased if needed. Using it for a WYZE V3 and it worked great. Nighttime illumination of the yard was good but it quit working witin 60 days. I checked the transformer output and it was in specs. Power is traceable to the unit but it does not generate any IR Illumation. I verified this with a military-grade IR light wavelength identifier. Additionally, the unit reads ambient temperature on the scanner (no Heat at all). Not sure if this is a random QC issue or not. Update: the seller contacted me and offered and shipped a replacement for the IR illuminator. He was very open with my issues and the company is definitely customer service oriented. I updated my rating to 4 and my current feeling is this is a random isolated issues with this product. I will follow up after using the replacement IR illuminator. Update #2 I have updated my review to a 5. The replacement illuminator has performed flawlessly and I definitely would purchase another unit from Tendelux. Thank you Tendelux for a great product and customer service. Update #3 30 March 2025 The replacement illuminator continues to perform flawlessly. This is definitely a quality product and seller. I would recommend this seller and product.

UPDATE #2: I may have had some issues with my first order that got resolved with my replacement, but this update is about the functionality of this item. 1) IR light is quite bright and expansive. You do need to make sure you mount it high or far enough away from the area you want to flood or it will look more like a spot light. Light is still really effective at far distances. 2) Build quality seems pretty solid. The light housing is made of metal (cast aluminum I think) and the wall mount seems the same. Everything is painted/powder coated and should do well in the elements. UPDATE: Changed from 2-Stars to 4-Stars! ! After returning this used IR light, I had a replacement shipped. The replacement was in new condition and I tested it with my camera. Works fantastic. Very bright IR flood light. Worth the headache of returning and replacing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I don't know how well this functions because I received a VERY used DI20. Therefore at this point I am simply reviewing based on the poor condition of the item. There was black marker colored in on the inside face of the "visor" top lip. Also, there was black electrical tape taped to the front rim all the way around. It was dirty, scuffed, and clearly heavily used. I paid full price for this item, so there was no way I was accepting this used and abused item. Shame on Tendelux for allowing someone to return an item in this condition and then pass it off as NEW.

This is a really small light (D120) which is great if you want something that is unobtrusive and works well (indoors) such as in a room at night or in a garage where people keep generators, tools, etc. It really DOES light up the garage for me. It really does make a difference for my garage cameras. Outside, no. It just does not have it from my point of view. It barely made a difference outside on my driveway. In my garage, I have it in a corner and it does a great job. With the garage door closed and the 36 inch metal door with half glass, it does come on so my solution was to put a smart plug on it to have it powered up about a half hour before sundown and about a half hour after sunrise. During the day, my cameras do fine in the garage. So while the light was sensing enough darkness to turn on inside the garage during the day...that is no longer an issue with the smart plug. Maybe if you have a very short driveway and you have two of these lights then "maybe" OK outside but probably not. For outside, get something bigger. I can't stress enough how small this light is...square but about as big a front as a softball but just an inch or so wide so it really is unobtrusive and very easy to hang. Where people are getting it is some kind of miracle light outside for security cameras at night-I just don't see that.

This is a huge upgrade over the 18 model for sure. Much better adjustment than the older models and it throws a much wider, brighter & more functional light spread. It seems to be a solid, one piece, cast build with large heat sinks on the back. Works great with my ring camera. The spectrum is visible to the naked eye but doesn’t seem to stand out as much as the For around $45 dollars it doubles the output but is only about $15 dollars more than the older version. I think it’s well worth the extra investment to light up the whole back yard instead of just part of it.

Update: The seller reached out and replaced the product and I have revised this review based on that information. Its rare that people stand behind their products. Thank you to the seller. This product failed at 14 months. It was rated for outdoor use but filled with water causing it to fail prematurely. When working it was fantastic. Awesome illumination and easy installation. After inspection the failure point was the seal around the face of the lens as there was no other point of entry for the rain water. Unit was mounter under the eve of my building. I tested the units power supply and it showed the proper 24 volt output. then inspected it for integrity and possible points of water ingress and there where no visible signs of anything until I noticed water on my hands from handling the unit. I then noticed a drop of water at the bottom of the lens. I heated and removed the plastic lens and poured out about two table spoons of water and inspected the board finding the failure. maybe a small amount of silicone around the lens would have prevented this. I have purchased another unit and plan to seal the lens and try this again.

This works really well, the lighting coverage is very good. At first it appeared defective because one of the cameras was showing that the light cycled between off and on. When I figured out that it was only affecting one camera, I ended up resetting the camera to factory settings (with the option to keep the IP settings). So after all, the light was working perfectly and it was one of my camera settings that was causing the problem.

I wish i could give 3.5 stars. Sorry, no pics. I have so many IRs it would be impossible to determine which one is doing what. OK so I have a LOT of Cameras!!! Last count was TWO 32 camera CCTV setups, an 8 camera setup, and a 12 camera setup. (Not including individuals) I have LOTS of IR illuminators as well. So build quality gets a strong 3. NOT THAT IMPRESSED. Not that they aren't rugged, it's just that most of the time I have to either add angled bases (that pivot) or I have to extend the illuminators to their absolute limit in one particular direction. They insinuate that they are easily adjusted in any direction, but trust me here, that is NOT the case. In reality the illuminators are VERY difficult to angle (once past minor angles) due to the slip channel design. That makes me nervous. I wish I could just mount them like you see on the pics, and point them straight, or down a little, or up a little, but real world isn't as easy. Because of this I get worried that they will break first time some large bird perches on them, and owning a berry farm, we get LOTS of birds!!! In their "normal" angles, they would get a 5 for build quality, but rarely do I ever get off that lucky that I can use straight on lighting. Light output. OK lets get the huge elephant out of the room. They do NOT light as far as they say. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!! But having used all the major brands of IR Illuminators, I can say NONE of them do. I'm getting a decent lighting coverage at 60-75 feet away. Thats a REALLY GOOD wide path of light Id estimate at around 60 feet wide. Any further than that and it gets a LOT weaker with every extra foot. Yes they work, and I order these because they are the brightest on amazon, but I'm still not impressed. WE NEED MORE LIGHT OUTPUT!!! Id gladly pay twice the price I paid for this light if they would make an illuminator with 3 times the light output, with an emphasis on LONG THROW pattern. I don't need wider; I need further away. So with these 2 huge negatives, why the 4-star review? Because at the current moment these are as good as I have been able to find. AGAIN, I'm not really impressed. Kinda an "I guess that will have to do... just disappointing". Theres another one out there that makes an IR that comes in a big square box with larger LEDS, and it does a LOT better on long throw IR, but its not as good at wide coverage.. This brand does really well with wide areas relatively close to the camera. Yes, they're water resistant. 5 stars there. Cord is TOO SMALL!!! If you can go through a wall, you're OK. One of mine (exact same camera actually, bought 3 years ago) is mounted on the outside of my vintage RV. No worries with the cord on that one, but one of these I had to wire completely outside by drop-cord, and that makes me VERY nervous. I don't expect that camera's cord to last more than a couple years at best. The price is just OK, A bit overpriced, and I'd much rather pay say... 500 to buy one REAL IR illuminator (something like the sports arenas have) than 8-12 of these, but at the current time these are all I can find. I like my property heavily lit up on monitors, and thieves spotted quickly. Meh... They kinda do the job.

I replaced a larger light with this one. Just as bright in a much smaller footprint. Very happy with the wide area the light covers, without hot spots. From other reviews I read, I think the product has been improved. First the mount seems to be metal not plastic. Second the light and power brick are separate, the light has about 18 inch cord with a barrel connector. Only gave a 4 star because haven't been thru a winter or long term use. Overall very happy thus far. Updated to 5 star. Light has worked well thru winter

It really light s a dark area

Necesitaba un iluminador infrarrojo para cámaras de seguridad en un area donde las cámaras no contaban con esa función. Una sola luz hizo que la noche se convirtiera en dia en modo infrarrojo. Incluso los videos de seguridad de noche son mas nítidos que los mismos de dia. Coloque la luz en una esquina del area a iluminar y todo un cuarto de 30 metros cuadrados quedo completamente bañado de luz infrarroja, ayudando a las cámaras a ver de noche. La instalación fue muy sencilla, solo perforar para colocar los paquetes y atornillar la luz en la pared.

Nice little units, the pigtail power connections are a little short, so if it’s pole mounted it’s kind of messy to connect to the equally short power adapter connecter. I’ll have to splice and replace the cable when I get time. Overall, nice wide angle short to medium distance IR floodlight, vast improvement if you’ve got a cheap home grade CCTV camera, I would have preferred the black finish to blend in more covertly/discretely, however that’s only available in the USA, not Canada. I did notice some IR LEDs are significantly brighter than others, leading me to suspect they will burn out quicker than others, time will tell. (See my video and images) Kudos to their customer support, they did responded quickly.
