At the ground surface, tightly enclose the trap with grass or leaves so that neither light nor air enters the hole. The trap is now ready for use. Check the trap after one day at the latest. Voles not Moles
UK. It is fine for voles as it is a VOLE trap - not for moles!

This is a mixed review good and bad.
the spike does find the mole run easily and the hole cutter cuts holes but I am unsure if it cuts them neatly or calapses them a bit it may be due to soil conditions. But it’s worth knowing prior to purchase. However, the part that kills the mole does not work at all for me. I bought two and they have been set off when in place 20 odd times without catching a mole. It appears there is a floor in the design the mole pushes soil in front of it and the soil sets off the trap because when you remove the trap, there’s a load of soil inside it Even when this is used in the hole multiple times there is still full of solid soil with no sign of a mole the one thing it did do is prevents the mole wanting to come into the garden so if it’s near the fence or the border it seems as if the mole hits it it triggers And then the mole runs back the way it came however that means it’s a one click device and it’s also being used with mole repellers which are battery driven and continually make noise so I don’t think although I love the design I don’t think this works very well. It might be due to the soil being wet Because it is December when this is bought it comes with a manual and that manual has two molecules it has this plastic design and metal design with four prongs which you actually then backfill the soil and the mole runs through. I didn’t see this for sale but I will look for it Because that might work. Unfortunately these are the best two mole killers that I’ve seen on the marketplace far easier than cutting a hole and fitting the device in a tunnel and not know whether it’s caught anything or not. These are easy to remove if they work they are well worth their money But as to yet I haven’t managed to get the plastic ones to work. If I was to give it a star rating for its design, it would be five stars. I love the design. I love the theory but for catching moles zero stars because it hasn’t caught one yet.

Best by far
We have moles (doesn’t everyone) ! In the past we have used the traditional steel traps which work but not in a way which despatches the mole quickly and painlessly. They are awkward to use and make a mess of your lawn This trap however is the opposite. Its very well made, easy to use and is very effective I tried it once and had instant success. The way the mole was ‘caught’ you could see that the process was quick. I would strongly recommend this device for catching moles and voles 👍

only works on under turf mole tunnels
only a small garden with one or two fresh molehills each day. bought this hoping to catch the little dude. the instuctions state that this trap will work when placed into mole tunnels that are just below the surface. my mole only burrowed straight down. tried it anyway by putting it into the opening when the molehill is removed. it just gets filled with soil and pushed out. no moles were trapped, although it does do a good job on fingers. bought some poison from ebay. no more mole

X’lnt !
After trying several ‘deterrents’, even calling in the experts, I decided to take matters in my own hands & buy these traps. I thoroughly recommend buying the accessory pack as well. Brilliant. Voles were my issue, but caught two moles instead. Great piece of kit.

Worked really well
Bought 2 traps and also the hole cutter. A mole was absolutely decimating my lawn. Tried a live capture trap first but didn't seem to work. Set both of these traps and had the mole caught in the second one on the first night. The other trap had been filled up with mud, so you need to make sure the hole is as clean and free of mud as possible before setting it. I also think there is a difference between mole tunnels with some being 'runs' and some being 'feeding' tunnels. You need to set it in a run as that will have less loose dirt for the mole to push forward. Trial and error but luckily for me the second trap I set worked right away.
