It’s sure to protect me from uv which is most important to me; however, it is also a quality umbrella with wind vents (cheaper models do not have wind vents), and is available in a couple of sizes: compact & travel. It securely attaches to chairs, etc, with the UV-Blocker claw holder (sold separately). I like how it easily opens, closes and stores away in the fabric pouch. The umbrella & holder fit in my carry on. It wasn’t cheap but you do get what you pay for.

Far superior to a standard portable umbrella.Keeps you 10 degrees cooler in the hot Atlanta sun. No fear of UV damage with this umbrella. A nice balance of protection and weight.

I was one of the extras in The Chosen for the filming of the Feeding of the 5,000 (aka Feeding of the Fried Thousand 😜) I was on set (outside!) for two 10-12 hour days in late June = 🥵🥵🥵!!! Do you remember the level in Mario Bros where the sun ☀️ is trying to kill you? Yeah, we did the real life version those two days! We knew in advance that it would be 100 degrees with 50%+ humidity - and I don’t do well in the heat 😂 so I agonized about what items to bring to help me - especially a UV blocking umbrella. This one claims to make it several degrees cooler underneath - and it DOES! It was definitely my most important protection from the sun and heat. It was perfect for covering just me - if you want to share, you should get a larger size. It was very sturdy too - when the wind would gust, sooo many people’s umbrellas flipped outward and/or broke. The vents on this were perfect to let the wind through. Once I was accidentally holding sideways it so that it caught a direct blast of wind into the canopy which flipped it outward - but I immediately flipped it back and no damage had been done. The opening and closing mechanisms worked flawlessly for “Camera’s up! Umbrellas down!” too many times to count. In a perfect world, I wish it was a little more compact and lightweight when closed, but then I suppose it wouldn’t be as sturdy - which is more important in my opinion. Anyway! If you’re looking for an excellent UV umbrella that does what it says while also being small enough to travel with - congratulations! You found it!!! I also took an electric neck fan (the batteries lasted the entire day!), a wooden fan, a Frogg togg towel and a water mister. Most important was drinking plenty of water with electrolyte packets added.

Good sun umbrella with strong UV protection. The 42” size is compact and works well. It comes with a cover, but NO shoulder strap, and since it’s thick, it doesn’t fit in a bag.I don’t like carrying it by hand. The 44” and 58” includes a strap, which would make this one much better. That’s why I give it 4.5 stars; otherwise, it’s great. Yes, I recommend this item. Well done!

I absolutely love the UV-Blocker Umbrella! This is a replacement unit for one I have used for 10 years. I suffer from contact dermatitis with sun sensitivity which results in an itchy rash. I use my UV-Blocker wherever I travel as it is compact enough to fit easily in a suitcase. I would highly recommend this umbrella along with sunscreen to protect you from the harmful rays of the sun.

Yes, it works, and yes I consider it worth the 4x cost of a normal umbrella. I tried a normal umbrella, but noticed that I was getting a fair amount of heat from the direct rays. This is because the fabric absorbs the heat from the direct rays and then re-emits the heat under the shade of the umbrella (I have a BS in Physics and am a Licensed Engineer, and I have studied and used these thermodynamic principles in my line of work). I began searching for an umbrella with a reflective surface, since it would substantially reduce the problem of re-emitting heat under the umbrella. This umbrella does a very good job of this. It is also constructed well, and handles being inverted, due to tricky winds, with no failures to the structural components. It blocks most of the direct rays from the sun (you can still see a little bit of the sun through the cloth). You will still feel heat from the surroundings since the ground is hot and strongly emitting Infra-red heat, but you will get very good relief from the direct sunlight. While compact, this umbrella is a bit thicker and heavier than a normal compact umbrella. This is due to the reflective coating on the outside surface of the cloth. I have gotten used to this, especially when it blocks the sun so well. There are other reflective umbrellas out there for less cost. I don't know anything about them, and they may work okay, but I can vouch for this ones performance. It is a good alternative to putting on sunscreen and as a bonus it keeps sunscreen from polluting our water (which it does when you swim or bath).

Im happy with my purchase because I am sun intolerant. the UV-blocker and UV protection is really good. I would buy this product any way just to protect my skin. Very happy. Its the best one yet. I have spent so much money finding the right umbrella

Customer service from U-Blocker is nil. The person with whom I dealt was totally useless in that he did not want to help the customer. He was only interested in selling the product and nothing else. I could not recommend this company and product to anybody.

Practico tiro con arco de alto rendimiento, estoy constantemente debajo del sol y mi piel se ha visto afectada, he buscado muchas marcas de protección UV y me he dedicado a comparar proveedores y marcas, soy muy precavida al comprar, ya que valoro mucho la calidad, aunque sea un precio un poco elevado pero con valor garantizado, la dude un poco por algunas malas reseñas de calidad. Llego hace unos días y la calidad se ve muy buena, ya la usé debajo del sol y cubre efectivamente si se siente como baja el clima debajo de la sombrilla. La doble capa, con ventilación que tiene hace que refleje efectivamente la radiación solar, más que una sombrilla convencional. He probado varias de compañeros y definitivamente lo esencial es una sombrilla con doble capa y reflectividad porque si no, no protege bien. Esta fue la mejor sombrilla calidad-precio y además certificada, simplemente fascinante! Ahora queda probarla un año y ver su calidad a largo plazo, pero hasta ahorita estoy verdaderamente contenta
