My GoveeLife is an ice-making beast
I bought this ice machine when my ice maker in my refrigerator stopped working due to a part that is no longer available. I still have the huge ice drawer in the freezer and the in-door ice dispenser--I just needed the ice. Enter GoveeLife. By my measurement, it takes nine cups of water to fill it to MAX, which lasts me about a week. I use the large "cube" size (shaped more like ice bullets). I use filtered water and always empty out the ice maker between uses, so the ice always tastes fresh and delicious. It makes nine of the largest-sized "cubes" at a time, and cranks them out every 5 minutes or so. I let the first batch of "cubes" drop back down into the water to chill the water so it takes less time to make future batches (plus the first batch can be quite wet and freeze back together into a clump if you're not careful to shake your ice drawer every time you add a new batch of ice). I put each batch of ice into the freezer drawer as soon as it drops in the ice maker, since the ice maker itself isn't refrigerated and the ice can start to re-melt if you don't catch it within a couple of batches. Don't bother to buy the ice maker cleaner solution since it comes with directions for how to clean it using white vinegar that works beautifully (I mistakenly used nine cups of white vinegar to clean mine the first time which was not necessary--next time I'll use more like 1 cup). The main thing I don't like about this ice maker is how difficult it is to get the last of the water out of the device when you're done making ice for the day. The plug in the bottom is very difficult for me to remove, and you're cautioned in the instructions not to turn the machine upside down, so it's very awkward and messy trying to remove the water using the plug. So I got a long straw and just suck the water out from the top, then wipe the inside of the machine clean and dry. I leave it open for a couple of days to dry before I close and cover it until next use. There are areas where water goes in the machine that are not visible or reachable and I worry about getting mold in those areas like happened with coffee makers back in the olden days, so I really hope it's all drying out between uses. Running vinegar through every once in a while should help also. I really love this ice maker--it saved me having to buy a new refrigerator just to be able to have an ice dispenser. Oh, I'm a sucker for anything that talks to Alexa, but truthfully, the machine is so well programmed that it turns itself off if it runs low on water and other conditions so I've really never had occasion to talk to it via Alexa, but I have tested the feature and it works well, both with the mobile app and Alexa voice.

A quality unit from a brand I trust.
First day has been great, exactly what I expected. I haven't connected it to WiFi yet, but it isn't necessary either, it works fine without it.The unit has 3 ice cube size settings, and is designed well, it keeps the ice frozen better than my last one. The water chamber is below the ice tray, like most lower cost models, so the water is recycled to make ice. There is an alarm that goes off when the ice bucket is full, it is loud enough to hear from the neighboring room, in case you want to remove the ice. As soon as the ice is cleared, it starts making ice again, without addition intervention. The ice chamber is slightly larger than my last model, and the water chamber is also slightly deeper. The unit is easily cleaned with the self clean feature. To keep it clear of any gunk, it should be cleaned regularly. I clean mine with citric acid, it works very well to keep appliances that use water, clean. The ice so far has been clear, and tastes good, I use filtered water as well. The water chamber has a small plug in the bottom so it can be drained into a bucket or straight into the sink. The unit is quiet, it makes the same amount of noise as my last one. The unit is very good way to use, and super self explanatory.

Good ice
I’m only giving it 4 stars because the ice on the small setting is still quite large. Otherwise, the ice is soft and easy to crunch. We have not had any issues and it has WiFi. It stops making ice once the basket is full. The basket is flimsy. I chose this brand because I have other smart items from this company that have been good so I trust them. I would prefer nuggets ice but those machines don’t last past a year and it’s not worth the money. Good machine so far. Will update if it that changes.

Great Ice maker
This is a great small, countertop ice maker.Pros:1) Small and compact. Fits anywhere.2) Makes ice, very quick. Turn it on and within five to six minutes you have your first ice cubes.3) Can be operated remotely.a) Turn it on/off,b) Change the ice sizec) Schedule when it operates.d) It will message you for the following: ice maker is full of ice, Low water, It needs cleaning. One note on this one, if you do not clean it when it asked, the ice maker WILL start messaging you, that it has been a while since you cleaned the ice maker. I really like this feather, it keeps you aware of keeping the ice maker clean. No one wants to have dirty, fowl tasting ice in their drinks.d) Turn on cleaning. The only con, which I will not reduce my rating is:The drain plug is small and on the bottom of the Ice maker. It is recessed where it is not easy to get to. So instead of pulling the drain plug, I just pick it up and dump it. It does not weigh that much, even when full of cleaner. In reality, it is easier to just dump it than to pull the plug and wait for it do drain out that tiny drain hole.I do clean mine at least one a week. Put cleaner in it. I run it on clean a few times. Dump it and run clean using clean water a few times, dumping it between the runs. I do not want to taste cleaner in my ice.Would I buy it again. Yes. It is a very nice looking, small and quickly working ice maker. I could not be happier.

HEALTH HAZARD, DO NOT BUY
Health Hazard! Do Not Buy! It Rusts! We’ve had this ice maker for 2 years. We use purified water from a water store that has a $20,000 filtration system. I descaled the ice maker every four months along with a good clean. Cleaned it last week. Few days ago ice maker stopped working. Upon inspection there were black flakes in the water reservoir. Turns out the screws in the back near where the ice is made had rusted and had brown streaks. We’ve been ingesting rust for who knows how long. Search these reviews for “rust” and there will be at least two other reviewers saying the same thing as me with photos. I was so upset I tossed this thing in the trash and didn’t take photos. They didn’t bother to use stainless steel screws in something that constantly has water in it, huh?! For the sake of health I went back to old school ice trays. Can’t risk our health getting damaged by ice maker machines even though it was maintained. Lots of areas we can’t get to. Apparently in time all machines of this type will have issues such as mold or whatever. Steer clear of this one for sure though.

Fast!
While I have only had this Govee ice maker for a week, I am truly impressed. Can’t speak to its future longevity, but after making 10 batches of ice in a few hours I can speak to its speed and the quality of the ice. I used a total of two 1 quart bottles of electrolyte water from Trader Joe’s to make enough to fill 2 gallon sized ziplock bags - about 8 full batches of medium and large ice cubes, 4 for each gallon bag. The machine signaled with a beep and with a red light indicator as to when to add more water. I emptied each new batch into the ziplock bag when the machine signaled that the basket was full, and placed it in the freezer as I waited for the next batch. The first two batches produced clear ice, but after those were in the basket, the next batches were more cloudy. I believe this was due to the temperature in the machine was affected by the accumulating ice. If I wanted crystal clear ice, it would be worth trying to empty the ice after each 6-8 minute cycle, and not let the ice build up in the basket to a full batch and to chill the water needed for one or two cycles of the ice making rather than filling the tank to capacity (which makes nearly full baskets.I found the Govee icemaker to be very well made and sturdy. The transparent blue protective manufacturing/shipping plastic wrap on stainless steel body is easy to remove if you unpeel it slowly. This was the perfect and cost effective way to having better, faster and tastier ice than my now malfunctioning refrigerator’s icemaker.

does not work in UK - wasted £310 for US model which wont work in UK!!!!
Does not work in the UK. Read manual - set up exactly. Had it on for hours and hours not a single ice cube has come out. The pack also is missing the ice cube scoop holder pin/magnet when compared to the manual and advert. So disappointed to have paid 4 time the price of a high street shop model price for what arrived. On top I had to buy a Uk 3 pin adaptor which was another £10. For £310 spent what an utter waste of time and money!!!! I've never bought Govee before and will never be doing it again after this. Avoid at all cost this nightmare. Seller is good at coming back and refunding replies to your emails
