Quality fixative.
This works and is simple and quick to use. It dried clear and didn’t alter the colours in my pictures. Using pads of art paper I now feel they are safe to carry around without fear of smudging. Use in a well ventilated room and give several light sprays.

Great stuff!
I really like this fixative. I'm just starting to play with oil pastels and have some creamy ones that are very sticky on the surface of my sketchbook. This seals them perfectly. It needed a couple of coats, but there's now no transfer at all. Quite pricey but worth it I think!

Oil pastel fixative
I use Caran d'Ache exclusively in my art work. Oil pastels are tricky to protect and this product does the job. I always have this available.

Perfect for oil pastel drawings
Works really well on my oil pastel drawings. It makes the surface more durable but this is not like armor. It'll keep the surface from smearing if something ribs against it but it is soft enough to rework or scrape the oil pastel underneath if you need to.If you put it on heavy I noticed some of the dark blue pigments in my Myungyo Gallery oil pastels "float" and separate out from others. The key to preventing that is very light coats.The fumes are such that I strongly prefer to spray a drawing with this outdoors. But it is not an instant asthmatic trigger for me, unlike some other spray fixes.It does not wrinkle the paper, unlike alcohol-and-casein based fixes. This along with the easier to deal with fumes makes it my favorite oil pastel fixative.
