Does this provide x and y movement like a joystick? hoping to use this as a cctv ptz controller

I don't now how your CCTV works so difficult to answer your question specifically but I can tell you that by default its configured to control x and y on Safari, Word etc (at least on my Mac). There are also settings for 'any application' which might work. The spacemouse is really designed for navigating 3D objects / designs though.

How well does this work with tekla?

Never used tekla, but it works great with Autodesk software.

Check your MACOS version. Go to manufacture website and check for new drivers for your OS.
