Q: Would it be possible to attach the mounts downwards onto a shelf, rather than to the sides of a cupboard?

The slides can only be side mounted in the cabinet. In case you wanted to install this ironing board downward onto a shelf you should look for any kind of support/bracket that could be fixed to the shelf and provide a suitable vertical surface to screw the ironing board slides.

Q: Have you got spare covers please

Unfortunately there is no specific spare cover for this foldable ironing board. Anyway, in the market there are plenty of universal covers and any of them might be suitable for it. The only thing you should take into account to find it is that the dimensions of the extended ironing surface are 945mm x 310mm.

Q: I have a max depth of 510mm and a width of 460mm . Will this fit ?

No l don’t think so, I’ve just had one fitted, the min depth is approx 700mm and width needed is approx 480mm

Q: Does it have to go in a drawer or can it go in a normal under counter unit without the the drawer door on the end?

It does go in a normal under counter unit. You won't need the drawer sides, but you will need the drawer front to allow you to pull the ironing board out.
