Easy grinding of tools
Easy to setup and use on existing bench grinder. Great for restoring the 25degree grinding angle to wood chisels and plane iron prior to honing on oil stone at 30 degrees. The guide plate and tool holder allows sideways movement back and forth the grind the wider tools such as plane blades. Well worth the investment. Should have had one years ago.

Great item for sharpening
I bought this to sharpen chisels, plane blades, spokeshave. This item makes it easy to do this job as you can get correct angles ,and you can lock the item in place so you can achieve this task and parallel blade sharpening. There is a company who makes one just about identical to this but it is twice the price. I recommend this product

Solid construction, positive locking. Good buy...
Solid construction. Straight surfaces. Very positive locking. Many of this type on the market but this seems to be the one with fewest bugs. Quite happy with it. Helps to watch a few tubes to add to the how to install phase. Patience gets good results as geometry important.

Premium quality tool
This is a really well made tool. Please note that Peachtree made an IMPROVED version with internal lock washers, so now it’s as stable as it gets. Please also note the top reviews are from 2018 and they reviewed an older version. I own a Veritas grinding jig too, so here a comparison. - The quality of manufacturing is about the same - above and beyond. Peachtree took a slightly different approach in design, so keep in mind it’s possible to adjust it out of level. It’s not a flaw, in fact I actually need this. The finish on the Peachtree is flawless, not a single scratch or burr, sturdy plastic, steel bolts, thick aluminum, no play in any part, came fully assembled. - Both lock dead tight. Peachtree has an additional level of adjustment, that is a sliding rail, a very nice feature. - Veritas doesn’t include a flat miter slide, they call it “90 grinding jig” and it’s sold separately. Peachtree includes one. However this included slide requires a square to set up a tool whereas Veritas has a pin that sets it for you. The maximum width that’s accepted by both of these are about 2.5". All in all it’s a really great jig. I was deterred by those reviews from 2018, but if I wouldn’t - I would probably never bought a Veritas, ‘cos Peachtree gives me about 95% of what Veritas has to offer for half the price.

Practice first
It’s a good jig. It’s not perfect but it’s helped me get more consistent results hollow grinding chisels and plane irons. I’ve been woodworking for a long time. Hollow grinding makes sharpening much quicker but one slip and you have a problem that takes a long time to correct. I would definitely NOT start using this jig on your best chisels or irons. The side to side action is not that smooth and the part that claps your chisel or iron doesn’t hold very well even if you tighten it. So use light pressure and go slow. I struck a line on the tool holder base that helps me easily line up the tool to the wheel. I’d recommend this.

My advice to other purchasers is to take time to set it up properly then works fine
Work perfectly, that why l purchased two of them, as you can see I have made a turning chisel jig attached to the grinder, it works perfectly
