Perfect First Backpack for our Kindergarten Mario fan!
My son absolutely loves Mario, and this set was exactly what he wanted for kindergarten. He’s so excited about it that he wanted to start carrying it around the house right away. We’ve had to convince him to wait until the first day of school, and he’s definitely not happy about it! The backpack is a great size for a 5-year-old. It’s big enough to hold everything he’ll need for kindergarten without looking oversized on him. The lunch box and accessories are great quality too, and it’s nice having everything coordinate. It gave him such a confidence boost, and I know he’ll be excited to walk into school with it on the first day. I’ll reserve the last star till after he uses it to see how it holds up over time.

Not as durable as it looks

Not the same quality as other backpacks I've had from this brand
My son had a Pokémon version of this backpack for several years and we loved it. He's obsessed with Mario now so we got this for him for Christmas. I have to say I was kind of disappointed in the quality. The lunchbox isn't quite as big and is very flimsy. The backpack zipper gets stuck easily. I'm hoping I just got a lemon because I've purchased this bag in other prints and have not had an issue before. Purposely bought it off Amazon because the price was way better than at Staples during back to school time. You can just feel the cheapness in the material that wasn't an issue with other versions.

Cute backpack, but the lunchbox is too small!
My son absolutely loves this set and it seems well made. However, the lunchbox is very shallow and doesn't hold much. His plastic sandwich container barely fits in it and I have to struggle to zip it once I try to stuff his snacks and juice box. It really needs to be made to be a bit deeper to accommodate plastic containers.
