A good product apart from the pressure regulator.
Being able to set it to water at sunrise and/or sunset is very useful. Setting it up could be a bit fiddly for some, but I had no problem. Take your time and be patient. There are plenty of additional accessories available for this system and they all work very well. One issue was a horrible loud noise that resonated throughout the house. Initially I thought that is was the timer, but it wasn't. It was the pressure regulator. This is a very simple design and the valve inside it charters. Maybe it might be worth Hozelock redesigning it to eliminate the noise? Anyway, the fix is to remove it entirely, remove the rubber seal from the irrigation hose connector and replace it with the filter from the regulator, making sure that the dome on the filter points towards the control valve. Its then possible to regulate the water flow by means of the supply tap. The operation is then silent.

Hozelock Drip Irrigation System
I have installed this kit in my garden to water 22 pots (currently and a wall rockery. Positive points: When finally installed and working it does exactly as claimed. The included timer is simple and gives several alternative watering programs. We have had a hosepipe ban here in Cornwall since spring 2022 but this kind of drip irrigation system is one of the few exemptions to the ban. The fittings are all mostly push fit with screw fit for timer to the tap so no tools are required. The small pipe fittings may prove difficult for people with arthritic or weak hands. Negative points: 1. The instructions are a joke !. The photos are so small you can't make out the detail and there is insufficient corresponding written explanation. I installed the drippers in the 13mm pipe the wrong way around at first and had to remove and turn around to the correct way. There is no further detailed information on the Hozelock website and the photos there are no better. The pressure reducer required an extra rubber washer to seal it to my tap to stop it leaking. Fortunately I carry lots of spare bits and pieces. There is no information in the instructions but I suspect if you install the pipework without the pressure reducer it will probably result in a burst pipeline. There should be a strong warning about this. 2. If your water pressure is good like mine you may find the pressure reducer oscillates producing a slight water hammer in the pipework which can reverberate through your house. Solution is to restrict the water flow to the timer or better still just add more drip points. The extra flow seems to reduce the likelihood of this happening. 3. I had to buy more 13mm pipe (25m) and more drippers but there was plenty of 4mm pipe. The extra packs you can buy are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I found you can buy exactly the same spike drippers from another company at more than 50% lower cost. So Hozelock are buying them in and making more than 100% profit on them. Most of the Hozelock add-on packs are £9.99 or thereabouts and are not worth the money and you can get the same or equivalent elsewhere much cheaper. Overall i'm very pleased with my system but as a retired engineer and experienced DIY'er I get frustrated when company's don't produce satisfactory installation instructions which would cost no extra for them to produce.

Birthday gift
The Hozelock kit proved a very welcome birthday gift. My son had considered buying it for himself.

Leaky
This is ok-ish, the timer works but there are multiple leaks where the drippers join on. I don’t think it’s worth the price.

Poorly made, unreliable and leaky
Absolutely pointless. First of all, every connector leaks and drips. Second, the timer to tap connector (female to male) comes apart when water is turned on. I wanted to be able to go away for a week and not worry about the plants, but I can’t donthat with this useless product. Finally, before buying this product I checked with Hozelock HQ that it would work from a water butt. It doesn’t. Very shoddy, poorly made and ill-fitting product. I shall never use Hozelock again.

Works Very Well
Easy to build after some planning to be sure all plants are watered. Good quality equipment easy to set up

Ditch the watering can 💦
Was dubious as you can only have the water dripping for an hour at a time (there is a manual override button for extra watering) twice a day. However we were away for a week during the latest heatwave of 30oC + for 5 days and when I came home everything in pots was alive and flourishing. The sensor to switch the water on at dusk and dawn for an hour is perfect. I put more outlets on the bigger pots and even though the water dribbles out enough is delivered in an hour. Only thing I found, and it’s my fault, is if the supply to the box is too high it makes a pulsing sound. So I tuned the tap down the pressure regulator in the kit balances everything out again. Simples, get one, ditch the watering can.

A good value starter kit particularly for watering pots.
So I spent ages looking at the various options available and didn't realise that there are in fact 2 different systems - the Classic - This one and the Easy Drip system which is a newer version and not totally compatible with this system. This only became clear when I rang Hozelock who incidentally were very helpful and I'd recommend contacting if like me you have specific queries or concerns. I made a scaled plan of the garden, worked out the pressure and what I would need and then added up the total required. I calculated that using separates the total came to over £127. I also calculated that the price of this kit would be £88 if buying everything individually. £51.10 then seemed like a bargain and Amazon ultimately seemed to be the cheapeast place to purchase this from too. This didn't provide complete coverage for the entire garden but in theory provide enough capacity to water all my Pots and some of my Strawberry Plants in the Border and wasn't much more expensive than the Timer would be on it's own and this seemed to be a fairly good timer too. Ultimately I really didn't know how well it would work and whether it would be any good for my garden and pots. Some tweaking was required and there is still leakage on 4 of the 5 joints where you pierce the large hose to connect the smaller hose. Also some of the drippers became dislodged whilst away but overall I'm pleased with the system and it also means I don't have to continually water pots every day either. What I did realised is that larger pots require at least 2 drippers, my smaller hanging basket was actually over watered with either dripper but being a Fuscia it didn't matter it certainly hasn't died which it very nearly did last year when not watered enough when away! I didn't realise all the drippers were end of line except if using in the bigger hose but I made it work and got round this problem. It did mean however that I used all the hose. Ultimately I will probably now purchase some additional adjustable drippers for both smaller and larger pots and possibly some additional hose. The majority of pots however seem fine with just a single dripper and setting the system to come on twice and watering for 10minutes each day. Obviously the frequency and duration will depend on how big pots are and where you live and of course the Weather which you can't do anything about with this system it will water regardless. You will need to set this up before you go away on holiday so you can tweak it to your own particular setup and obviously spend some time thinking out how you're going to lay it out so you get maximum out of all bits provided in the box. In retrospect I'm glad I went with this first because it is substantial enough and flexible enough to water a variety of pots/plants and even borders. I'm thinking of labelling up the Hose, Pipe and drippers before I put it away for the Winter otherwise I won't know what went where when I come to re-assemble this next year!

Ce n'est pas le bon programmateur
Le descriptif n'est pas bon. Sur la fiche je devais avoir un programmateur avec fonction crépusculaire et aube, et je n'ai qu'un programmateur 24h. Je vais m'en contenter mais c'est limite.
