Mine came with windows 10 pro, which is superb (no update needed). The best thing ever! It’s worth every buck and I can finally work in a fast pace. I don’t think I’ll ever own another laptop again. I’m never a MacBook person person, and Microsoft totally rocked this one. I went for 16gb ram for fast usage and it’s pretty speedy. I love the face recognition and haven’t used the touch screen yet. Recently purchased a cover to protect which is something I highly recommend. This is a great investment laptop and for those who seek the best quality. I’ll choose Microsoft surface for life.

Having used a surface pro 3, then 4 for the past few years I was ready to try the new surface laptop. The surface book was a bit too heavy . With the sp4's I opted for the i5 with 16gb ram to extend battery life. Also the i7 on the surfaces pro 4 were getting too hot. With the surface laptop I ended up with a i7, 16gb ram it's a bit pricey but it's a work horse and probably best laptop I've had for travel. I do miss the sp4's ability to remove the keyboard and adjust the rear especially in the plane when I can stick it in the seat pocket. Also a bit getting used to having the dock/power mount on the bottom near the keys vs the screen on the sp4. The bigger screen and better keyboard is a nice welcome after so many years with a surface pro For power users I would also recommend the stylus, a usb3 Ethernet adapter as it also provides 3 usb3 slots and an 'active' mini displayport to HDMI . I do wish it had a usb-c slot sometimes .

I am an intense user and the Surface Laptop is the best laptop I owned so far. Upgraded it to Win 10 Pro since I need a wide variety of software on the machine for professional use (Image processing, CAD, etc.). The upgrade was free and easy. The keyboard is very precise and comfortable, allowing for fast typing. Mouse and touch screen very accurate. The display is crisp with natural colors. Processor and SSD performance is ample. Beautiful detail solutions like the power supply plug and the additional USB charging port in the power supply add to the appeal. And the design is clean, minimalist, beautiful. I hope I will have this laptop for a very long time!

This was a great laptop for 2 years, then the keyboard separated from the bottom due to the battery heating up and coming unglued. Then, the rest of the PC starting going down the drain. Does not last.

I am an IT Manager who oversees 7 different locations, and 160 employees. We are a Microsoft shop, running Azure, Office 365, and SharePoint. We used to be Dell, with regards to hardware. These devices are fast, reliable, light weight, and as durable as any other tablet style device you will find. The battery life is incredible. I have users on them 8 solid hours, never an issue. Yes, they are higher price, but you get what you pay for. I do have a 3 years accidental on all devices. I've only had a single issue in 3 years with them. A user left theirs on the roof of their car and it slide off and damaged the screen, obviously not fault of the device. I personally run a Surface Pro i7 with 512 Memory, and I love it.

Very nice piece of hardware. I few minor complaints: Not nuts about how the charge cable interfaces with the laptop.. not as good as the maglock system but macs use but better than the typical connector. It is short on ports. Display Port, USB3 and a headphone jack... and thats it. I wish for a built card reader when I forget to bring my USB card reader. Aside from those complaints, its great. Great keyboard, great track pad and HOLYSHITAWESOME SCREEN. Looks great and 3:2 aspect ratio is so great for actual productivity. Great battery life and highly portable size and weight. Tight integration between OS and hardware shows.. everthing just works.

To start off, I was supposed to get a $200 gift card for the purchase of this item, which I didn't, and Amazon would not work with me regarding the promotion (which is the only reason I considered buying this laptop). I will not judge the actual item based on my poor experience with Amazon. This laptop is great. I took naturally to the touchscreen, but you can function on the laptop without the touchscreen (I realize some people do not like to "ruin" the screen). Some things may bother you though. NO CD ROM. I lucked out in that I could download all the previous apps I had, but if you require a CD, you will need to buy an external CD ROM drive to run the apps, and to burn CD's. ONLY 1 USB PORT. So I had to buy a splitter. Personally bought it to be able to use a mouse and keyboard, although I find it comfortable typing on the laptop's keyboard. Overall, I've had it for over a month and I love it. No major problems, very fast so long has you have a decent internet condition. I have a lot of apps and files that I transferred with no problem and the computer is still running great.

My favorite laptop in years. Love the facial recognition login, and love the feel of the fabric. Looks sleek, i7 feels like it was worth it. Software dev is no problem with this laptop - I have a web server, sql server, etc... all going at once, no problem.

Worked great out if the box. Easy setup and transfer of my office 365...then the first update wiped out all my apps. Tech support was helpful but this was not necessary....update apps then OS... Good fast laptop. Impressive battery life Very nice display.

Best PC laptop I've ever owned. Absolutely love it.
