This is by far one of the best idli pots out there. Its been almost a month since i bought this and we have used it almost everyday to make idlis. It works perfectly and the idlis come out very soft which makes it very tasty to eat. Before i bought this product, i did a lot of research on products that were cheaper than this one. My primary focus was to buy an idli pot along with a steamer so we can reheat idlis the next day. After a lot of research i settled on buying this one. I read all the reviews from other customers and was a bit skeptical at first because some of the customers complained of the handles melting away if u put it on a very high flame. This might be true so we havent tried that out. You dont need to put the idli on the max setting on a gas stove. Medium heat is sufficient for 15 - 20 mins to make nice idlis. One of the biggest complaints with other products is that when the steam starts the lid tends to pop out. This is the one single major concern of all the other products. I am happy to say that it is NOT the case here. In this idli pot, the lid sits outside the pot unlike the other products where the lid has to be fastened tightly inside the pot. As a result the steam builds up and the lid pops out. In this product however, since the lid is sitting outside the pot it does not become tight when you put it on. The lid is a bit loose but it is perfectly aligned to the pot. Hence there is no chance of the lid popping out here. I am glad this pot is built in this particular way. Another thing thats not mentioned is the every idli plate inside is a single separate piece. It is not like other products there all the idli plates go into a single file and then u lock them and put them all in by holding the top part of the plates. In this product each one is separate so you fill the idli batter in one plate and put it inside the pot. Then you fill it in another and u put it on top of the previous one. I did not expect this and it was not mentioned anywhere. However, this is in NO way causing any problems. In fact it might be a blessing in disguise because u can use just the steamer and maybe just one idli plate at a time. You dont have to put all of the 4 plates in with one being the base. My suggestion would be to go for this product without giving it a second thought (even if you dont want the steamer option). The only reason being this is the only product that behaves as it is advertised. Every other product out there has lid popping problem. Hope that helps. :)

Quality of the product is excellent.. Can make 6 idlis per plate. At a stretch can make 24 idlis. Thats also nice. But when it comes to using its kind of big on the stove.. apart from it , can use it for atleast 7-8 years, with out any complaint. attaching a pic for reference. Ignore those stains on the idli maker, those are due to salt water. Also, black knob to hold the plates , is getting heated . Have to use a cloth to hold the plates after cooking. Haven’t used the dhokla plate yet. So no idea about how to use it.

Nice product iam writing this review after using it for more than a month . Body is madeup of stainless steel and its sturdy moulds are big and handles are very good to hold best part of this idly cooker is we can make idlys according to our choice that means if you want to make 12 idlys you can put only 2 plates and remaining plates can be left a side in old model idly cookers it use to come with one stand and in that we have to place othr plates but this comes with individual plates each plate has a big black holder to hold the plate and remove it outside and best part is it has additional plate for dhokla, handvo, muthiya or evem we can steam veggies in that plate best product worth of money

The cooker is too good. Firstly I was in dilemma whether to order or not since price wise it's high and in the reviews section I saw too many bad reviews. But yes the product is too good for daily use. It's been 2 months I'm using it. My mom and sister just loved it. We cooked idli and momos as of now in this cooker. Go for it guys it's good

I don’t know how people have given it 5 star rating whereas I wanted to rate it lower than one. The worst thing about it is the cheap plastics used for making knobs of each plate. I mean seriously this has to go inside a steaming pot. What happens when we steam idlis in it ?? Idlis infused with plastic essence! Smell of plastics gets infused in the idlis! Plus It tastes pathetic ! we know how unsafe it is to use plastics esp when it gets heated. My idlis tasted like plastic, like if we could taste the smell of plastics we breathe when we get into a car having cheap plastic parts. I do not feel its safe to cook using them. Please avoid buying them. The company should provide its customers , who have already bought them with some alternative knobs and handles. I just realized i busted my 2000 bucks ! Discretion :- DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ! Please !!!
