You're paying for the SAS functionality. That is all.
5Gbps (that's USB 3.0) so read/writes are very slow if you're looking to transfer an entire drive, but there aren't any easy options out there for SAS drives. The dock makes it so convenient on computers that don't have hot-swapabble drive bays.

Excellent build quality. Basic but does what it needs to do, plugged it in and it worked.

The Maiwo works
Works with 3.5" SAS drives. Sometimes gets hot - I use a fan. Typically writes to a 12Gbps drive at about 60Mbps over USB 3. I'm hoping to eventually find something faster, cooler, and cheaper... but this works.
