GREAT quality, sturdy, not loud, pieces fit!
I'm soooooooooo pleased with this machine! My Kenmore of 22 years kicked the bucket 😢, so I needed another one asap, because using a hand mixer takes up too much of my time. With this machine I can multi-task by letting ingredients mix while I work on something else. It comes assembled, literally, the bowl was already attached. The size is just fine, not too small, not too big. The quality is great, which is a MUST for every business, and the value for the all that came with it was well worth it. It also doesn't have any problems so far which of course is fantastic.

The excellence only Kitchenaid provides!
The excellence only Kitchenaid provides! I don't understand the one-star ratings, as I could not be happier. I purchased this 7-quart lift mixer after my last Kitchenaid mixer quit after 30 years. The attachments fit perfectly in the bowl without any adjustment. The unit is quiet, even at speed 10. I ran it for several minutes and it never shook, wobbled, or walked on the counter. From delicate tasks to whipping cream to kneading dough, this does it all. The 1/2 speed is helpful - just be sure the speed is set to zero before plugging in the mixer. It arrived in only one day in original Kitchenaid packaging in perfect condition. After my last Kitchenaid quit, I did extensive research and came back to Kitchenaid - truly the best there is!

I Cannot Recommend this Mixer
I purchased this KitchenAid 7-quart mixer, in contour silver, at a sale price of $549. It stopped working about 3 minutes into mixing icing, only the second time I used it. Just STOPPED. I followed all of the troubleshooting guidelines, however, it still did not work. I checked my breaker, plugged it into different outlets, kept it unplugged for 30 minutes….all to no avail. There was no smell when it stopped. It wasn’t warm. I was just flabbergasted when it “quit”. I was so excited to be able to finally get this mixer. I had dreamed of having one for at least 20 years. I didn’t even get to use it for the tough jobs so many people brag about! I know this sounds melodramatic, but my dreams were sure shattered. I began the return process through Amazon. I saw an option of returning the defective mixer, and replacing it with another, same make and model. However, Amazon could not fulfill the request (no reason given) after I selected the option, probably because the mixer is no longer on sale. I will say, however, that the return process is seeming relatively easy. Luckily I had kept my box! FedEx will be picking it up at no (further!) cost to me. Packing the mixer back up was a beast of a job, but with my husband’s assistance, we were able to do it. As of right now, I am not sure I am going to order another one. I don’t want to go through that emotional turmoil again. I had been in the middle of making icing for my granddaughter’s birthday cake. Thank goodness my old, trusty Sunbeam Mixmaster got me through the remaining mixing. I did not review the ratings on this model before I purchased it because the KitchenAid (mixers) has always had such an outstanding reputation. I know people who have had their mixers for 25 years and they are still working perfectly. But now that I’ve had an opportunity to review the feedback from others on this particular model, I see that I am not the only one who had problems. It seems there are issues with the durability of the 7 quart mixer in general—many, many with this same exact problem. I’m not sure if it is just the batch that Amazon got or if other retailers have lemons too, but KitchenAid needs to do better. This was a tough disappointment. I was so excited when I received this beautiful mixer that I had dreamed of for so, so long. I can’t recommend a product that failed, therefore, my rating reflects that. This mixer failed during one of the easiest tasks possible for any mixer, let alone one that costs upward of $550.

Love it
I’ve had this mixer now for a little over a year. I got it drained Black Friday I believe and got about $200 off of it which makes it well worth it.

Quit after only 5 minutes!
I have used kitchenAid mixers of this type for over 50 years. This is my third mixer, as the other two were replaced after about 25 years of use. I love my kitchenaid, but this one truly sucks. I started making my first batch of bread dough for rolls. I hadn't even added all the flour, maybe 6 1/2 out of 7 cups, and it just quit. The circuit is not tripped, the mixer is not even warm let alone hot, and the speed was only at 4. Yes, it says to do it at a 2, but I put it on 4 because I was in a hurry. I've made bread literally for over 50 years and this recipe specifically. I've always used a higher speed at the beginning when there was more liquid and I was adding the flour. This dough recipe makes a very wet dough, and it was not a stiff mix. I unplugged it, turned it off and on, checked the circuit breakers, etc. It's dead in the water. Now I have to wait until tomorrow because I can't talk to anyone over there because it is 3:17 p.m. here and 6:17 there and they close at six. I'm beyond disappointed. Did Kitchenaid just lose their edge in quality of their appliances? They used to be great! I will update if I hear from manufacturer or if something starts working. But this should never have happened. I know if it overheats it will quit for a bit till it cools off. But that is NOT what happened here. 30 minutes later, still off. :(. Whirlpool is sending a replacement. Blue us t available right now so I’ll get the silver.

Dissappointment
My recently purchased Kitchen Aid mixer arrived faulty. It started and switched off after 2-4 spins. I am very dissappointed and I wonder why wasn't the mixer checked before sending. After all it cost a lot od money! One could expect more quality from this brand.

durability and quality
I bought this because it was on for a great sale and also to replace my 27 yr old artisan one that died. I did have to get used to the fact that the head does not go up like my other one but other than that it is a great machine and I will always use kitchenaid mixers.
