Really nice!
I have worked with wood in building most of my life, but Im a novice at working with a spokeshave or a draw knife. I bought this spokeshave just for hobbies and I am really surprised at how well it works. I have used it on three projects so far that all involved wet Hickory and it is still sharp. It feels balanced when I’m using it. It comes with a great price. I highly recommend it.

Great spokeshave
Okay for the price, awesome. I almost made my own until I saw this for less than $10 U.S. It is a little hard to adjust to the perfect height. I tested it out on a switching grain Purple Heart. If you know wood, you know this is a hard wood. With the grain it was wonderful right out of the box. A soft wood would shave like butter. I have readjusted this thing about 20 times. I keep getting too deep, or not touching. This is my issue, I am just stating how much I have worked to dial it in. Each wood is different also, with that said a softer wood is probably going to shave differently. 4 stars because of my struggles to set the blade depth easily. I am happy with the factory edge, it was sharper than I expected. But I don’t do factory edges, I am going to hone it to my standards and give it another go. I will probably come back and give this 5 stars once I am finished. A sharp edge will change the amount that it digs into the wood vs how much is shaved off the wood. Recommended, will buy again. (If needed)

Good quality.
It came adequately sharpened. It actually needed some additional set up but I expected that. I spent maybe 3 minutes on the whetstone then about a minute stopping with leather it to razor sharpness. It took longer to adjust the depth but once I got it tuned up it was taking paper thin peelings from my maple longbow. I am very happy with it. I've been shaving it for about three hours now. It hasn't lost any sharpness so it is obviously good quality steel. Some are complaining about sharpness but their complaints are probably misdirected. The secret is to get it adjusted properly and used properly. It's like any other planer you can buy. Even the high quality planers need regular sharpening stropping and adjusting. I recommend this one for occasional use. If you're a pro, maybe spend the money for a better one. Forthe backyard or garage use this is a great buy.

Works, but challenging
It works, but very finicky to get the blade straight and adjusted to the proper depth. Feels and works like a cheap tool.

Hand plane
Junk, but give it 4 stars for looks and price

Great value
This spokeshave has been more useful than expected. I use it to rough out shapes quickly. I did not expect much from the price, but have found it to be one of my favorite tools now.

Good after cleanup
I bought this as a cheap and disposable tool to learn the basics of how to sharpen and mend a plane before wasting time and money on the real thing. After flattening the bottom and sharpening the blade I ended up with this a solid performing spokeshave that makes very clean bevels and works great at rounding handles. It's cheap and functional if you already have some basic tools and blade sharpening skill. Out of the box it was completely unusable though.

Very poorly made.
There is a reason why this product is so cheap. It’s very poorly made. First, there are no instructions. You have to guess how to get it to work. The item is built cheaply and the cast iron is poorly poured. The various screws and bob adjustments do not work or are very inexact. It is very likely that your cut will not be the same debts all through and may be crooked. I would not recommend this item.

Svår att få bra
Den är svår att få bladet jämt på och släpper lätt på inställningarna, fungerar ok om du ska använda den någon gång om året, annars så rekommenderar jag ett märkesverktyg.

EXACTLY What You Pay For.....
Jim… Buckle up. Because what you’re asking for — “the mother of all product reviews” — is exactly the kind of chaos‑meets‑craftsmanship writing I was born for. And don’t worry, this isn’t a “task” or a file or anything fancy — just pure, unfiltered text you can copy‑paste straight into Amazon and watch the world wonder what kind of man resurrects a $12 spokeshave for fun. Here it is. If you’re looking for a precision‑machined, heirloom‑quality spokeshave that glides through hardwood like a hot knife through butter… keep scrolling. If you want a tool that arrives ready to use out of the box… keep scrolling faster. But if you’re the kind of person who sees a $12 spokeshave and thinks: “Oh boy… this is going to be fun,” then congratulations — you’ve found your next project. What you get for $12: - A casting that looks like it was poured on a windy day - A cap iron that fits like it was traced by a man wearing mittens - An iron ground so far out of square it qualifies as a skew chisel - Heat‑treat stains that might be intentional - And the pure, unfiltered joy of fixing something that never asked to be fixed What you DON'T get: - Flat surfaces - Square edges - A usable bevel - Any sense of pride from the factory - Instructions - Shame The magic moment: After some filing, flattening, re‑establishing the bevel (twice), and a brief existential crisis, I put the iron back in, tightened everything down, and pulled it across a piece of ash. And I’ll be damned — it made curls. Actual curls. Not dust. Not chips. Not tear‑out. Curls. At that moment, I laughed so hard I scared the wildlife. Performance: Shockingly decent. As good as the $35–40 hardware store specials, maybe a hair better once fettled. Not even in the same universe as a Veritas — but that’s not the point. Who should buy this: - Tinkerers - Sharpening addicts - People who enjoy chaos - Anyone who believes geometry > pedigree - Folks who think “good enough” is a compliment - Anyone who wants a fun afternoon and a good story Who should NOT buy this: - People who expect tools to work out of the box - People who don’t own files, stones, or patience - People who think rust = vintage = priceless - Anyone who faints at the sight of questionable metallurgy Final Verdict: Five stars. Not because it’s good — but because it’s exactly what it promises to be: a cheap little gremlin of a tool that, with enough love and geometry, will actually make shavings. And honestly? For $12, that’s a miracle.

Je n'ai pas réussi à enlever du bois avec cet outil
Je n'ai pas réussi à enlever du bois avec cet outil et j'ai abandonné. C'est peut-être de ma faute, mais ça n'a pas fonctionné pour moi.

Very happy
Very happy with it. I’m not too sure what the multiple adjustment zones are for but I’m happy with it. Would buy again. Fit nice in the hand used quite a bit on Australian hardwood timber will probably sharpen the blade soon.

Ottimo attrezzo molto maneggevole
Per me e' stato molto utile per piallare il telaio di una vecchia porta. Dopo aver regolato bene la lama la pialla funziona perfettamente.
