This Mic beats most of the similar priced competition. But speak in to it at the end NOT the side.

PR della seria Pro , molto ben fatto . Finalmente sono riuscito a abbassare il rumore delle ventole di computer e amplificatore con questo microfono.

My mic was great until it wasn't. Now it has a clicking sound every minute or so that ruins the recordings so now it's no longer usable.

Best quality of any mic I've ever used, in 50+ years in radio!

I am loving me some PR40 - I have used the venerable EV RE20 for about the last 6-7 months on a daily basis and it has served me well in that time. The one thing that I find lacking in the RE20 on the various hardware configurations I have run it on is what I find to be a lack of clarity or perhaps some muddiness. It is not terrible until I put the recording next to something by me off a LDC or the PR40. This thing blows the RE20 out of the water on my voice (beep bass/baritone) for voiceovers. The one thing is that the PR40 is much crisper and brighter, a little too much so but once I found the sweet spot on the low frequency gain knob (and the HF knob too) for me, look out - no contest. Couldn't be happier.
