La La Land [VINYL]

I really loved La La Land as a movie - in the style of old Hollywood with fantastic music and cinematography - and I wanted the soundtrack because it was stuck in my head! I ordered the CD and got a free mp3 auto rip - which meant I could listen to it straight away! So I was very pleased to see the pdf with the mp3 songs had the lyric sheet with it. However, I was disappointed that when the CD came they hadn't included the lyrics in the booklet with the CD. Slight flaw there I think, but I can use the pdf and print it and include it myself in the cd - but that feels a bit 'against' the point of the CD version... Anyway that aside, music is beautifully written and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. Hats off to Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and co for such beautifully addictive music,

The intention behind La La Land, the film, was to show how the glamour, the romance, and the sheer joie de vivre of the classic fifties musicals could be recreated in the twenty-first century. It succeeds on all counts, not least because the soundtrack is made up of some absolutely brilliant music. It is jazz based, with melodies that stick in the memory after just one hearing. I write as someone who is not actually a big fan of classic fifties musicals, yet I love this musical. I am not all surprised that this soundtrack CD is a big seller.

I originally bought this in vinyl but it was such a bad pressing I gave up after 2 separate faulty records. CD is perfect and fraction of the cost so I can now enjoy at top volume in the car and at home. Excellent soundtrack.

I could post loads on this. Let me just say I cannot stop playing it. hard to say which is the best track. The opener, Another day of Sun, is wonderful, but Someone in the Crowd is really uplifting. The 7 minute epilogue which has no singing has to be played at the loudest volume you have . Great OST to an amazing film.

Brilliant album with great songs like 'A Lovely Night' and the outstanding 'Audition (The Fools Who Dream)'. Love the film and now have the soundtrack to play in the car.

Several others have complained about the poor pressing and I am another. At least mine didn’t jump or skip but there is dreadful surface noise throughout the whole of the second side coupled with loud crackling on many of the tracks on both sides. Quality control at the pressing plant is obviously non existent. Records should just not be allowed to leave a plant with these very obvious defects. I like the music, have watched the dvd several times I just wish I could enjoy this soundtrack but that’s not possible with this terrible vinyl issue. I will be sending mine back for replacement but in view of other poor reviews I’m not expecting any improvement. Update I am both extremely and pleasantly surprised. The replacement is so much better.Just a few pops and crackles none of which are that distracting or annoying.There is no surface noise at all on side 2. I had to enlarge the centre hole as it was too small to fit on my turntable spindle but this is easily done by pushing and turning the end of a ballpoint pen into it.Hence I have upgraded my score from one to four stars.

It's one of the best original motion picture soundtracks I have listened in my whole life.Lovely,romantic.nice and beautiful.I have just watched the movie of La la Land .It's one of the best pictures ever made.I recommend this CD to everyone.

This is the best film I have seen in years. It isalso the first film on dvd where I have watched the film with the director and composer commentary actioned. It help my understanding of what went into making the film, and confirmed what I thought the alternative ending was about. The film itself I have seen in a cinema three times, and on dvd once, and blu-ray twice. I have also bought the film's soundtrack cd, and played it straight through, and thought it worked very well. It's very good company on a longish car journey. In my opinion Emma Stone thoroughly deserved her Oscar, and the film should have been awarded the best film Oscar.

Il film lo conosciamo tutti, un altro piccolo capolavoro di Damien Chazelle. Ho potuto acquistare questo vinile ad un prezzo relativamente basso e ne sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso. La qualità audio non è affatto male, il vinile non salta. La custodia è liscia e vi sono impressi i nomi delle tracce, i compositori, la durata e altre informazioni relative ai brani. Consiglio l'acquisto!
