Great Addition to a Govee Smart Home Setup
I picked up this GoveeLife wireless motion sensor to automate a few lights in my home, and it's worked very well. Setup was quick through the Govee app, and pairing with compatible GoveeLife devices was straightforward. The sensor responds quickly to motion and has been reliable for automatically turning lights on when entering a room. The wireless range is impressive, allowing me to place it farther from connected devices without connectivity issues. Its compact size also makes it easy to mount discreetly without drawing attention. One feature I really appreciate is the ability to control multiple devices as a group. This makes it easy to create smart home routines without needing a more complicated automation system. Battery life has also been solid so far. Overall, if you're already invested in the GoveeLife ecosystem and want a simple way to add motion-based automation, this sensor is an excellent choice. It's easy to set up, responsive, and works exactly as advertised.

Another Great Product By Govee
Christmas sales started popping off.. already had a tiny bit of experience with Govee lightbulbs and home automation. For the price point (especially when on sale).. it was a no brainer. The sensor is fairly small, battery already installedโฆ had done my homework and knew I needed the Govee Distributed Gateway in order to best utilize this device; picked up a pair of Govee smart plugs that also act as the necessary hubs. By combining the two, you are able to lint the sensor to the hub/plug and truly take advantage of configuring it automation capabilities. My first one was purchased during that Holliday Sale highโฆ as a result of realizing that for whatever reason I continuously leave the bathroom lights on.. working from home; this means they can and will be on all day and all night unnecessarily. So, this kinda just fell into my lap and everything started sparkling and โDreamweaverโ was faintly heardโฆ it was meant to be. Setup: super freaking easy. Open box. Open App. Hit the + in the app.. bam! Added the sensor and plug hub. Skimmed an article to make sure I understood how their โ Distributed Gateway โ works and how the UI for automation setup is configured. - so I set up the automation to trigger when you step into the bathroom; kicking the lights on automatically and also after a defined time interval turns them back off. Easy peasy.. and as an additional bonus: I now can wake up in the middle of the night or early in the morning and just walk into the Ianโs not have to worry about finding the light switch when Iโm not even fully awake; definitely donโt have to worry about hitting the lights on my way back to bed either! Works so well, that I have purchased a second one and configured automation similarly to turn on and also kill the lights in my home office/studio/workbench/tinkering hobby lab. - as I am always busy and strive to take on every task that comes my way. Knowing that I have an extra pair of motion โ eyes โ without relying on cameras to do the same thing that might become a security risk had I gone with a completely different non-Govee solution. Would I or have I suggested this to any one I know OH YES I HAVE!!! *** would I purchase again? โ ALREADY HAVE ( in under a 3 weeks) โ Planning on picking up a couple more And the special extra I got out of the smart plug.. allows me to control them via the app as well as verbally;via Google Home Assistant. Canโt beat those collective multiple abilitiesโฆ. And Iโm already seeing a noticeable difference in my power bill. Thanks Govee!! For pick him up the ball when others have dropped it and building such an amazing larger ecosystem and GoveeLife. Bringing the larger vision of home automation and such a huge variety of great products and products that allow for such a a flexible application of your offerings and you just canโt beat how easy it is to get the hardware configured. Gone are the days of 15 minute setup per unit and all the frustration that came while dealing with very well known competitorโs products; which unfortunately are slowing all dying out in my home ecosystem. A very pleasant experience. Things work and are accepted openly when they do just one thing: exactly what it says it does with extremely easy setup.

Neat, but wonโt automate everything
EDIT: After seeing Rodโs review, I have added a delayed execution to turn the device OFF after 2 hours of the automation turning the device ON with the sensor. Worst case scenario, Iโll need to move a little at my desk haha. Thanks Rod! It was missing the adhesive and looked used upon receipt, but it works fine and doesnโt need to adhere to anything to work. I got this to automate turning on/off the Govee light bar mounted on the shelf above my desk. Well, thereโs only automation to turn the light bar ON if there is movement detected. There is no automation feature to automate turning the light bar OFF if no movement is detected after x amount of time, so using the app is still necessary to turn it off. Itโs a first world problem that has been half solved. Iโm not sure if there is another way to automate turning devices off, so if there is Iโd be happy to hear about it.

It just works if you have it turn off the lights after 15 min.
Works well for my need. I was able to set it up to auto turn on lights when I enter the room, I extended the timeout to about 15 to turn off automatically. I wish the app supported iOS proximity so when I enter an area via gps it would turn on like I have with my iHome plug bar. Outside of that you need a subscription to ITTT. This filled that void and allows me to have something that will turn on the lights when I enter the room, and sitting next to the sensor, it doesn't turn off the lights throughout the day until I leave at night. It connects via Wifi with no issues and is very easy to getup. There are a lot more options, but I just needed it to keep the lights on while I'm in the room and it works well for that. I've not had it long enough to understand the battery life, but being able to disable it firing for 15 min should extend the battery life. Its a great value for the money cause it just works.

It won't tell you if it detects motion.
A motion sensor has a single purpose--to detect motion. Our black cats are in the habit of getting locked in the basement, so we wanted to set up a motion sensor that would...you know...sense motion and then let us know about it. Seemed like a simple project. First of all, we discovered that the dumb thing would not pair with our Govee water sensor hub. Oh no. We had to buy a smart...something else to use their distributed hub technology. So ok, bought a cheap Govee smart switch. Then we tried to do the simple thing--set this up so that when the motion sensor detects motion, we would get a message. Alas, after three hours of trying to negotiate the horrible mess that is the Govee app, we discovered that we could...tell it to turn on the lights, play music, perhaps send soothing thoughts to aliens. But what it cannot do is to tell us that it could detect motion. I admit that I lost my temper and tossed both the switch and the sensor in the trash. I won't be buying any more Govee anything. I already have a hub, but somehow that hub doesn't work with anything else Govee sells besides the water sensors. This type of customer up-sell is hateful. And don't sell me a motion sensor that can't actually tell me it's been tripped. I am not an engineer, but honestly, this is overthinking at its absolute worst.

Great product.
This things so easy to use and makes anything possible with smart homes. I set this up for my bathroom to have my govee air cleaner to turn on because my friends stink up the bathroom without turning on any fans, lol. But like i said, super easy to use, hasnโt died and iโve had it for a while, itโs super small and not visible. You can put it anywhere you want. It also triggers ASAP and is super quick to start up the air cleaner.

Works and is very easy to set up
But... It is very laggy. I got two to control the new strip light Pro that i'm placing up the side of my stairs as a night light but as I say, laggy! So easy to set up but it isnt instant on but I do love Govee! I just ordered the plug on ones hoping they react more quickly.

Easier than flipping a switch!
I set this up in my closet to turn the closet light on every time someone enters (I used the Govee Smart Bulbs in the fixture). It was easy to set up and then program it to do what I needed So far it works flawlessly. I havenโt had any connectivity issues. The battery hasnโt died yet and itโs been over a month. It turns the lights on instantaneously, which is so much better than fumbling around for a light switch in the dark!

Great for a motion controlled bathroom smart light
I bought the Goveelife motion sensor in the hopes I could control my Govee ceiling smart light in my bathroom without the need of voice commands! Happy to say it does exactly what i wanted it to do and was so easy to set up. I currently have it set up to turn on upon sensor and then turn off 3 minutes later from the same sense. The unit is actually a lot smaller then i anticiapated which is a plus as it doesnt stick out too much in the bathroom (i do worry people perceive it to be a camera but time will tell) It comes with a 3m sticky label to attach to a surface however i haven't used this yet until i find the most ideal area. The only downside is the cost, If it was slightly cheaper then i would have multple in the house and garden.

A must if you own Govee products
I have this set up on an automation to turn on and off the three Govee light products in my man cave/gaming room. X2 strip lights and a wall light kit. itโs a game changer as it activates as you walk in the room, saves going through the app turning them on and off. Makes the light purchase worthwhile as I feel Iโm getting more value for money now as I actually turn them on. Well they turn on automatically now should I say ! it works every time without fail for the cost itโs a must if you have any Govee products in a room/space. I think It would be good to add a stand in the kit though rather than just a 3M sticky pad as I have it on a shelf. I can 3D print one but that would have made the sensor kit perfect.

Flawless
Set up within minutes, been a few weeks now and been working flawlessly and still showing full battery. Can link to anything else in my Govee app. Currently using it as a motion sensor for the light in my ensuite, adding the final touch to automated lighting in my apartment. No need for me to touch any switches anymore as they all turn on during sunset and turn off automatically at set times of a night. This motion sensor and the whole govee system is a true affordable gamechanger
