Korg - GA-CS Pitchblack Custom Pocket Tuner with 3D Display - Black

This is a great tuner to use, very readable from a distance. The tuner supports a range of different tunings, although I only use A440. There are three tunin modes - standard, semi-strobe and strobe. The standard tuning mode is quick and accurate for day-to-day use and strobe mode is very useful for guitar setup, setting intonation etc very accurately. The lock-on for the chromatic tuning seems reliable and it doesn't jump around like some cheaper tuners that can be inconsistent measuring the pitch of a note, especially lower notes on the Bass. Accuracy is stated to be 0.2 cents, which almost as good as the stupidly expensive peterson strobe tuners.My only slight niggles are that there isn't an external power option and a full bypass so that the tuner can be left in-circuit. It isnt a problem with my Eden bass amp as it has a seperate tuner output, but may one to bear in mind.Overall it is quite good value, and a great product. It does the same thing as cheaper tuners, but is accurate, is easy to use and the display has great visbility, unlike the cheaper LCD display Korg tuners

I've had a Korg WT-10 electronic tuner for 40 years and it's been very good, but I finally decided to change to a GA Custom. I really like the GA; the display is great to look at but more importantly it's very clear and easy to use. In Regular mode, it's extremely quick to tune my guitars. The manual isn't clear, but I think the Regular mode is accurate to +/- 1 cent. The Strobe mode is much more accurate at +/- 0.1 cent, for times when that is needed, for example when recording or setting intonation. I don't use the third mode, half-strobe, much, as the Regular and Strobe modes give me all that I want (the manual doesn't explain why you might want to use the half-strobe mode, other than as a visual variation).This style of tuner is also available as a pedal (Pitchblack Custom), clip-on (Sledgehammer Pro) and rack (Pitchblack Pro), although the rack version is only accurate to +/- 1 cent.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this tuner and would recommend it. The only caveat is that it's made of plastic and it doesn't feel too robust, so it's probably not something for stage use, where the pedal or rack would be much better.

Display, with a real feeling of depth, unnecessary but cool!Easy to interpret and very responsive making it easy to get a reading for instruments with limited sustain, some Ukes and banjos etc.Compact, pocketable and accurate, (checked against a Peterson Stroboplus HD).Input and output jacks. Takes two easy to find AAA batteries.The following could have been better:AA batteries instead of AAA larger last longer even easier to find. Very minor niggle.Annoying to have to stand it up with a plastic plectrum. At this price surely a wire or even plastic flip out stand could have been provided.Interface:Calibration display 0 - 9 ( 0 = 440hz ... 5 = 445hz then 6 = 436hz ... 9 = 439hz ) seriously in this day and age you couldn't display A = 440hz ?Display modes are again labeled 1,2,3 for Regular, Strobe and Half-Strobe, not exactly intuitive.While all the tuners I have come across are flat on the left and sharp on the right indicators would have been nice.

I have just tuned an acoustic and an electric guitars. Tuning both was very very easy. Setting the intonation on my electric was so positive I went from open to fretted so quickly I was done in half the normal time. How long it lasts is the same with anything I buy, which is the same for everyone. If it stops working I will see how good the guarantee is, if it’s still covered. I’m easy on my purchases, my LP IS 15 yrs old my Sheraton is 20 yrs old both like new. I don’t think top companies get their good name by making bad products. I think people are just sloppy with how they handle things. This Korg GA-CS custom tuner is a great bit of kit, well worth the money. If it goes wrong would I get another, definitely.

This is a really accurate tuner with a bright easy to see display - makes it easy to tune and setup a guitars intonation very precisely using the strobe mode - struggled for years with flashing LEDs and jumping Needles - this makes it really straight-forward, scientific precision in a box :)

It's an OK tuner but not as good as it should be for the money

My favourite feature is the strobe setting which is also good for intonation adjustment because of it's precision. It is possibly more suited to setting up a guitar, home use, travel, practice, and general convenience rather than use on stage in a live setting where a pedal type tuner would be more suitable because you have to activate it by hand and it's plastic. Although the case is plastic, it's still nicely made and doesn't feel "cheap".

I was sceptical when I first bought this tuner because of the low price. I checked it out on the internet and it was rated as one of the very best tuners out there. I also purchased it because I have had very good luck with the Korg Guitar products and to say the least I have owned many, many tuners in my guitar playing experience. I started playing the guitar when I was 13 and I'm now 76. This tuner plugs into my foot pedals and can be turned on and off by pressing the on/off tuner switch. The tuner will hold the note of the string for a very, very long time so you can adjust the string tone properly. It also works awesome for setting the intonation on your instruments. What I mean by "holding the note" is the sustain of the note when plucked....with needle tuners the needle flexuates up and down and is hard to get the instrument tuned properly...not with this Korg tuner...it uses sustain and a strobe light to tune each note easily and with extreme accuracy. I highly recommend this tuner for all musicians. In a word "Fantastic". Another plus is it is very easy to see the display from far away and on dimly lite stages etc.

Decir que es muy buen afinador. Tiene varios modos de luces muy llamativos. El más preciso, el estroboscópico, puede que sea el menos intuitivo, pero te acostumbras. Como puntos en contra, decir que parece un poco delicado, por lo que se agradecería un estuche y sobre todo que no me gusta nada donde le han puesto el botón de encendido, junto a los otros dos botones, lo cual te obliga a mirar (si es que hay luz suficiente) para saber cuál es y no darle a los botones de modo y calibración.

Precisely what I wanted, a precise, high visibility tuner (for dark stages).Just a remark, still searching for a tuner that goes as low as 430hz, calibration wise. Would recommend it to fellow musicians

Gewohnte Korg Qualität. Nichts zu beanstanden. An den Strobe Modus muss ich mich erst gewöhnen, aber das ist nichts was ich Korg oder dem Tuner anlasten kann.
