Let's be clear: the Pelican Cargo Case Bracket does exactly what it's supposed to do. It grips my Pelican case like a bulldog on a bone, securing it to my vehicle's roof rack with unwavering tenacity. I've taken it through bumpy trails, high winds, and torrential downpours, and my precious cargo has remained safe and sound. In that respect, it's a five-star product. It's built like a tank, with thick, powder-coated metal and robust hardware. You can tell it's designed to withstand serious abuse.However, and this is a big however, the price of this bracket set is, frankly, insulting. It's highway robbery. I understand Pelican makes high-quality gear, and I'm willing to pay a premium for that. But the cost of these brackets is disproportionate to what you're actually getting. We're talking about a few pieces of shaped metal and some bolts. While the design is certainly functional, it's not exactly rocket science. I can't help but feel like I'm paying a massive "Pelican Tax" simply for the name.There are other cargo case mounting solutions on the market, many of which are significantly cheaper. I opted for the Pelican brackets because I wanted the peace of mind knowing my expensive Pelican case was absolutely secure. And, I have to admit, the integrated look is appealing. But the nagging feeling that I overpaid persists.If you're on a tight budget, I'd strongly suggest exploring alternatives. You might find a perfectly adequate solution for a fraction of the cost. If, however, you're flush with cash and demand the absolute best (and are willing to pay a king's ransom for it), then the Pelican Cargo Case Bracket will do the job admirably. Just be prepared to wince when you see the price tag. It's a fantastic product that's tragically overpriced. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the best things in life come with an absurdly inflated price.

This is the worst design for a mount; and it’s $200!! It makes me want to return the mount and the case.First, the fasteners are not theft resistant and allow any bad doer to remove the entire box with minimal tools. Also, why the heck are the fasteners exposed to even allow it?!? Are the hinges on your front door exposed to the outside??Next, the box has to be locked to the mount. And then, if you care about the box contents, you’ll need to lock your box… So, you’ll wind up spending more $ on locks… up to 5 locks.The same holes used to secure the box to the mount are the same for the lock?! So you need to chose… do you get a more secure hold using the provided pin, or use a lock that then leaves some vibration.The prod engineers at pelican should really rethink this design… especially when you’re paying premium prices.

I have 3 Pelican coolers, and they are built like brick houses. These boxes came in and were great - and I wanted to mount them to my roof rack so I ordered the hardware. The cost of the brackets is very high, nearly twice what I thought they should cost for how thick they were. These should cost $100 or less per set.When I installed them on my roof rack, something was wrong. They wouldn't engage properly and the boxes shook and rattled when I drove over bumpy roads. They also squeaked, which drove me nuts.I took them to my fabricator friend's house, and we discovered that the slots on the brackets were 1/4" too low - preventing the catch of the hardware from pulling the box hardware down firmly enough (there was slop.) We had to machine the slots 1/4" deeper, and then everything worked correctly again. I was also told by Pelican that I had to put WD40 on the pins that were squeaking (steel against steel) which I found odd for hardware that costs $250.Looking back, I would probably have purchased a competitive brand (ROAM) which feature positive clamping hardware that can't possibly have these errors.I made it work because I love Pelican, the quality of the and the look of the boxes. The design of the mounting hardware is lacking and doesn't match the quality of the boxes.

-1 star only for missing parts!Ordered 2, had them past the return date, went to install to find one missing brackets ... had to order a 3rd. For the price ... costly mistake!
