Ox Bile 1,000mg, Digestive Enzyme Bile Salts, 45% Cholic Acid, 120 Capsules

Had my gallbladder removed over 16 years ago at 27. My bile duct was full of stones and they had to place a stent until they were able to remove enough of them. Since that time I have suffered with severe constipation. These seem to help with that. They did cause some gas the first few times I took them. Hopefully they continue to work long term!!

This works wonderful. It really helps aiding in digesting my food and I have less bloating. It has also help with regularity

Have SERIOUS issues!!!!!! It hasn't stopped the issue but has slowed the problem alot!!! But it's been a week! Update after a month.

Not sure if it works or if I’m taking it at the wrong time

Update 06/17/26: regular still though since few days ago and I started getting rocky stools again despite taking the kefir everyday! I guess I need to either try these bile salts again or find a different kefir product that contains other strains of bacteria! This could be my last update since this review is getting long for everyone to read! Update 05/31/26: I think I gave credit to the wrong product! It wasn’t this bile salts that saved me from severe constipation and transformed it into severe diarrhea it was a different product that I took the same time I used to take these bile salts and I just didn’t connect the dots accurately! I just discovered this after having my constipation back for a week with hard, dense and difficult stools (sorry) while taking 2 of these bile salts with each meal (a total of 4 a day)! The dose was high enough to cause kidney pain! You may ask sooo, what is it then that I was take that day? It was a coconut probiotic water/kefir/culture that I purchased from Whole Foods store! I was in a so desperate and miserable state to the point where I would try everything to ease the pain a bit with! So I started the kefir with a dose that was higher than the recommended on the container! The recommended dose is only 1 tablespoons and I took about 4 if not more! I just did this once again yesterday (05/26/26), (drunk the same amount from the kefir), and I got a loose stool though it wasn’t as painful as the first time that happened cuz yesterday I didn’t take bile salts just to confirm my hypothesis that the kefir is actually what worked! Almost one week now passed since I took the kefir and I am constipation free still :) Sorry, can’t list the name for the probiotic so people don’t think I’m marketing for them but you will find that in the refrigerator section with the other cold probiotics (more hint; glass bottle with different flavors but I chose the original coconut kefir to avoid natural flavors ;) Note: I still recommend these bile salts if your constipation is due to sluggish bile flow while working on thinning it! Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor and I’m not intended to treat you! I just wanted to summarize and share my story as much as possible! With that said there are a lot of details into this and my symptoms/solution might not match yours so proceed with caution please! Thanks! Original review: (This has literally ended years of suffering from severe constipation that led to the development of hemorrhoids! I went heavy on it the first several days and gave me severe diarrhea that have not experienced in a long long period of time but subsided the next day! I wish the doses of each capsule is less than 500mg to fit various sizes of meals! Also, I found some capsules that were almost empty so there is no consistency in the bottle! Finally I sometimes burb with tasting bile salts after taking them! I strongly recommend giving this a try anyway if you are dealing with constipation! Hope you find this helpful! Be mindful that constipation could come back when you stop taking bile salt for some time so you need to work on your liver and getting to the root cause of not producing enough bile salts naturally! I haven’t figured this out yet unfortunately :()

Notice an improvement. Easy to swallow. Will continue to take and will then be able to address how the product performs.

I have been taking ox bile for many years because after my gallbladder was removed I have issues with stomach aches, cramping and diarrhea this helps with all of that. Sometimes I buy other brands (nutricost) and they all work just fine for me Over time I have noticed that when I take too much ox bile I'll get heartburn so I always start off with one 500mg and take more if needed capsule and if I eat something light I'll start with a 125mg capsule.
