The SHIMANO SPD Cleat Set Multi-Directional Release Type SM-SH56 is perfect for mountain bike shoes. They are compatible with all mountain bike shoes. I have used them for years. They are very comfortable and well made from steel. There is some limited float adjustment and they are very easy to install.

These are the real deal. I was worried about fakes, but at least the set I got is working great and appears to be the real deal. I've been a huge fan of the MR cleat for well over 10 years. I use them primarily for road biking, and I've never failed to blow out when I need to, while they hold me in beautifully otherwise.
