Aniwell - Filtabac Antibacterial Cream with Sunblock x 120g Tube

This product has been an absolute life-saver. Our two young white cats were getting sunburn despite applying factor 30 children's suncream every day. We were beginning to despair about the fact they would lick it off and get burnt. We came across FiltaBac, bought a small tube to see what it was like, and I don't think we will go back. It creates a film that the cats seem to not mind being on their ears, and you can see it stays on all day. I don't think you need to apply it as often as they recommend, three times a day seems quite a lot, especially as our cats come back with some still visible on their ears every night. It has not smell and is quite thick, you don't really need very much to protect them. Even yesterday (1st July 2015) cats wanted to be outside all day and ears and nose looked absolutely fine. This has been an amazing product. A few people have talked about possible toxicity in cats, but having read their website it seems that the quantity used is not harmful at all. If you're worried about it I'd say try the filtaclear one, but I don't think the sun protection is as high as the Filta Bac. This one can also be used to heal any sunburn which was a major factor in buying it. Cannot recommend enough. Much better than human suncream!

I purchased this cream due to two visits to the vets: Last year our white and black cat developed a brown mark to the end of his nose (during the hottest part of the summer) which developed into a prominent scab. First visit, the vet picked it off -- due to the scab being small, it was not possible to do a biopsy on it, to check for cancer. He asked us to come back if it returned. For the rest of the year he had a slightly faded brown mark; In the hottest part of this summer, the scab suddenly returned. Another vet, at the same practice, couldn't confirm if there was anything to be worried about. But she suspected our cat may have got into a fight with other cats (which he does) or from snuffling around in hedgerow etc.. She suggested using sunblock, as cats with white faces and white ears are more prone to skin cancer. We've used this cream on hot sunny days so far, and the scab hasn't returned. Since using this cream the slight brown mark appears to be going, and his nose looks better. Even though our cat doesn't like having the cream put on him, he tolerates it, and it seems to last most of the day. Hopefully, this cream to will continue to heal his nose and the mark will completely go. ** Our vet hasn't recommended this specific cream, only recommended a sunblock cream. I found this cream on Amazon UK and took a chance. I would always recommend taking an animal to a good trusted vet first and go with their recommendations before buying this cream. **

We took our pink nosed Dalmatian to France so needed a good sunblock for not only his white bits but his very pink nose .worked like a dream in fact when we came to apply the next day some of the cream was still on from the day before ,We didn't walk him in full sun but it made me feel he was protected. He also got a tiny cut on his leg so with it being antibacterial we popped a bit on that too and it healed very quickly and he didn't want to lick it,, I also got bit from a mosquito and dabbed abit on. It didn't itch once after that so we all used it when we got bitten .So a must have when travelling with your dog in the heat of summer but also a must have for cuts / bites all year round .

White cat, after vet visit was told he has precancerous cells on ears Purchased this, first time used, put too much on hands (fingertips) could have done my body too (note to self, only a little required) Apart from cat having 6th sense and knows something is going on, managed to cover his ears daily, especially when we were having that very hot weather, scaling on ears disappeared, fur started to grow back - what little there is on ears - and cat seems fine, you really do only need a smidgen (for cat) as it does spread, but easy to use especially when cat not being an a-hole and running away, certainly recommend

It helps protect my cats ears. Wash off every 3 days and reapply.

I used to always use human sunscreen for my horses but it rubs off too easily. I find an application of filtabac is still giving protection over a much longer period, i generally only need to apply every other day to prevent sunburned noses. Helps any sore spots to heal up as well. The tube is easy to use and as it's a thick paste the horses don't seem to mind it being applied.

Recommeded to me by the charity I had adopted my cat from. Goes on thick like a clay mask by lasts a good day or two for my cats ears and has since prevented him from getting any sunburn and thus protecting his sweet little pink ears!
