Dr. Frederick's Original Gel Heel Guards, 4 ct

These were purchased for our grand daughter who is an ice skater and because of the forces on her feet within the boot, she has developed an issue with her heel. Nothing we have tried before has given her relief or enough cushion as these gel pads have. She started wearing these and in the last few months, she's noticed that they protect her heel much better than other gel heel protectors and they stay in place. They are truly targeted to the achilles tendon area but they could also work for the heel as well. She has developed a condition which will eventually result in surgery later on, but for now, these have given her a lot of needed protection and comfort that allows her to continue with her training and ice skating along with working as a waitress at two jobs They fit very well within her skating boots and her work shoes, so it's a win for both types of shoes. Highly recommend for ice skaters who wear the bungas and other gel protectors and those on their feet for hours at a time.

Glad I purchased. I hike a lot and these help with my heel pain that pops up around mile 4 And, its a two pack! Glad that I will have an additional pair to wear with heels this fall. I highly recommend.

They don't eliminate the pain but they do mitigate it somewhat and act as a protectant against irritation

This item made my heel comfortable, but it’s sweaty and itchy. Can’t use it no more I waste my money sad on top of the foot. It should be some cotton instead of rubber make your foot sweaty and itchy. Ew

I tried these in an attempt to protect a bump on my heel that gets sore when I put pressure on it while in bed. I thought these would help. They really don't. What I really need is something with a hole in it to support the area around the bump and not put pressure on the bump itself. Anyway, I my attempt to reach this conclusion, I put this on my foot. First of all, they are too small for my size 13 feet but I put it on anyway. I first tried putting it on my bare foot and then sock over the top. Nope. The sock would just roll this thing off and up my leg. Then I tried over the sock. It barely stayed in place just sitting there. It was really too small but the fact it was so soft, my foot didn't complain. Then I went to sleep. I woke up a few hours later to find it had rolled off my heel and was hanging around my ankle. Nope. Another fail. Not for me.

I wear a women's 8.5 E or a men's 7 E. I have a wide foot but a narrow heel which is a problem when hiking and I have sprained my ankle. I bought these to take up space and keep my heel from slipping. I bought another similar brand, ball.otte, but they are too thin and stretchy, I tried 2 sizes. These made by Dr. Frederick are very substantial and I can easily put my socks over them and then put on mid-high Keen hiking boots. They are comfortable. Glad I found them.

This product looks like it might stop my heel pain. Upon receiving them, I cannot get my foot into my shoe with the heel pad in place. I tried it under my sock and on top of my sock as they recommended Shoes are not loose enough to accommodate the heel protector. They bunch up and slide out of position.
