Brilliant, but donโt use before exercising!
Iโve used this for years and itโs brilliant. You can feel it warming the area (in my case my shoulder) and it does seem to do the trick. Iโve used this product for many years but felt I had to leave a review as a warning for those who may put it on before exercising.Donโt.I put some on my shoulder (which has flared up after a blissful number of months without issue) over the weekend and again at 7.30am this morning. I felt the heat and over the course of the morning I didnโt even notice Iโd put it on, no sense of heat or anything. Now, Iโve been doing the Couch25k plan and this is week 9 day one, a 30 minute run. All was well until the last 5 or 10 minutes when I felt my shoulder getting warm. When I finished and did my stretches I took my shirt off and the area Iโd applied the gel to, and the surrounding area (my upper arm, neck and chest) were bright red and burning like hell.I had to get in the shower pronto and put it on as cold as it could get. I straight away felt relief but when I moved out of it the burning sensation came back. I had to carefully wash (in cold water still) and dab my shoulder area dry.It still burned like nothing Iโve known so I put some aloe vera onto it but that didnโt make a massive difference. Eventually (after also putting a bag of frozen peas on it!) I put some Sudocrem on it and itโs now gradually cooling down, but itโs still very red and tender.I think as Iโve been working out my sweat has brought it to the surface and itโs spread over my arm and chest as Iโve been running. So, my advice is definitely use this for your aches, but under no circumstances use it before any form of exercise, or if you expect to sweat a lot later in the day.Trust me, you donโt want to go through this discomfort!

HOT STUFF
HOTSPOT is a fantastic product as a muscle rub. It is a "topical" gel that is used to target specific muscles abn joints. It is made in Germany to the highest safety standards. I have sever "Metatarsalgia" (foot pain) but specifically the "Ball of the Foot" and the big toe area. I have tried scores of balms, creams and tablets. I have tried for several years to find a topical gel/cream that contains Capsicum. It is not available in the UK due to it's "hot potency" but in my case, I needed something more effective than potions OTC. HOTSPOT not only has Capsicum, but also Devil's Claw, Cloves, Nettle, Camphor, Calendula. Great care must be taken with this and it must be thoroughly massaged into the muscle's point of pain. My first use of it, it didn't seem to work! After 10 minutes, there was still not much activity. Half hour later - WOW! It kicks in with intensity. I would advise new users to use only a little - it goes a long way. I have been in severe pain for 10 years, but HOTSPOT "Hits the spot". As professionals say - Arthritis can't be cured but my view is that HOTSPOT produces a "tingling" sensation that interrupts the pain signals. The "heat effect" lasts for hours, then just add a little more to suit. I have found it is a "pleasure" to experience gentle warmth in my foot rather than severe pain and is the best "topical gel/cream" I have used. I have used several cbd balms, cryogel, freeze and heat gels and Capsicum patches from abroad (burnt my foot!).CONCLUSION - HOTSPOT is a great product, but must be used wisely. I have found it is a "pleasure" to experience gentle warmth in my foot and is the best "topical gel/cream" I have used so far. It seems pricey but my word - IT IS EFFECTIVE when rubbed deeply into the muscle. It can be purchased in small tubes and sachets etc. In this case, HANDS must be washed thoroughly and must not be allowed near the eyes and mouth. For the men, wash your hands before you go to the toilet - and after. NB: This is not a paid review.

It sorta works...
Just, not as well as expected. That might be due to it being used for Peripheral Neuropathy rather than for muscle aches and pains.Long story short, it does help to dull the pain a bit, and for quite a few hours, but it absolutely honks with the amount needed to have a good effect. Very obviously, it's no use on hands... unless you fancy getting some of the stuff all over everything you touch, and that is not a nice experience. (going to the toilet especially!)Essentially, it's only of use on the feet for me. Though that means I get the concentrated face-full when I take my socks off, which is good for clearing the sinuses in a rather painful way.

Excellent product
Forget the deep heat, this is amazing stuff.Applied to my sore lower back before bed and felt a lovely warmth all night. Add in the fact the t contains not just capsaicin, but other extracts that work as natural anti-inflammatories and regular use should help with those sore joints and muscles. Good value for this size tub, as you really donโt need a lot. Nice non-greasy gel formula that soaks in quickly.

Dear Lord it is HOT!!!
Well, having purchased numerous muscle rubs and creams over the years to help with sports injuries and tight muscles, I have always gone back to the old favourites like tiger balm. Then I spotted this and thought, why not give it a go...Dear Lord, it gives you a shock...I read the various write ups and followed the sensible approach of; start with a little...but went one better and gave it to my wife for a shoulder injury. She said "Its really good stuff and warms up brilliantly, you will like this one"I hadn't taken into account her pain threshold is a 100% better than mine. ๐ณ๐ณI used it after a hot shower, wanted to treat a bruised and tight gluteus minimus and tensor fasciae after a few heavy falls training. Oh my lord, only used a small amount, started warm, became hot and finished with dear lord take me now....completely forgotten any bruised or tight muscles, took twenty minutes to temper down and I felt brilliant.Think tiger balm on steriods and you may be near the mark... excellent stuff

I even took the tub on holiday.
I bought a tub because the pain in some of my fingers was terrible. This is the third different type of gel/cream I have tried in the last few weeks. I was nervous applying the first dab after reading about how hot it was.It was not as hot for me as some people described. I was able to massage it into the fingers and it gave a mild tingling feeling and appears to have banished the pain currently. The smell of cloves is quite nice, much better than some of the pungent alternatives.Live long and prosper. My hand is a swollen Vulcan Salutation.

GOOD, WORKS, CLEAN AND HELPFUL!
Used sparingly, this product will serve you well. It works mainly by changing the temperature of one part of the skin to interrupt pain signals. That's the nutshell version. I bought a box of disposable gloves with which to apply this gel accurately and sparingly without having to worry about contamination to other parts of the body. Apply, dispose and get on with your life. I also keep it in the fridge as applying it cold is easier to sense the accuracy of the application. It's expensive only if you waste what you don't use. I'm 70, still training and don't intend to stop but pain is part of the price you pay, which is more desirable than death or long infirmity at the mercy of disinterested carers. This is a good product but it isn't idiot proof so, use it with thought, care and attention and you'll never regret it. Lecture over, get yours today! ๐
