Great little set just hope they say sharp.

Difficult to use and seems unable to cope with anything but the softest material possibly only good for plastic

The items arrived promptly but the taps are rather fragile. One sheared off while attempting to cut threads on the inside of a 1.2mm OD aluminium tube using a hand held pin vice.This could have been my fault for using the wrong size tap, but since they are almost indistinguishable it is an easy mistake to make. I have no experience with the use of such fine tools so I am not blaming the supplier. Clearly the taps need to be used carefully by gentle hands,

I use this for my silversmithing. it's precision engineering and i'm very glad I don't need to be too careful (annealed silver is very soft compared to this steel) but if you are using this on harder metals, be sure to use some cutting oil to get the thread started. If you need to rethread something or create a thread to match another already in existence, best do half an hour's research on the numbers: Hardness (Mohs), thread angle, external diameter, thread thickness, etc. there's a lot to consider. If though, you want to screw some copper or bronze components together, or you are a watchmaker, you may appreciate this set's simplicity of use.

This will work only on very soft materials, like plastic. Tried to put thread on aluminium and destroyed the holes. I then give a try with a normal screw and done better job on aluminium. Waste of money
