what is the difference between the D3300 and D3200 and D5300?

I would suggest that if you are interested in gettin into photography, go and check out the Nikon website or independent review sites for the exact differences. But in a nutshell, they are all from the same series, with the higher number indicating a slightly better or upgraded version. The D3300 shoots slightly faster and copes better in low light than the D3200, but not as good as the D5300. I have the D3300 as my first DSLR and have found it to be very user friendly with plenty of features and options available to expand my learning.

In a word yes. The image quality is very detailed thanks to the 24Mb processor. The processor is also fast (i.e. if you see something you can turn the camera on and grab a picture without having to wait). The camera has a sports mode which, if combined with its facility to take a series of pictures at the same time, should be great for taking action shots of birds in flight.Finally, the camera has a facility to turn off the noise of the shutter firing so you don't disturb the birds.Re. the lens, yes you will need a more powerful zoom than the standard 18 - 55mm kit lens. Ask your camera shop for advice or do your own research. There's plenty of choice, both Nikon branded and 3rd party.P.S. I should also have said that the D3300 is rather smaller and easier to carry around than many other DSLRs, which is handy if you are out of doors and on the move.

CAN YOU GET A LENS COVER-SHADE OUT SUN RAYS

You can get lens hoods that fit the filter ring on the front of the lens. Some of my older lenses have plastic lens hoods as supplied that fit an outer ring, but they tend to come off a bit too easily.
