The brim, like most hats today, seems to be made of cloth covered plastic. The underside of the brim is the same prewashed faded black color as the rest of the hat. The writing seems to be spray painted on, with the plastic based numbers painted and then either glued or ironed on. This hat seems to be well made. For this price, the writing is printed, and not sewn into the hat.
