What verification is required?

Not sure what you mean by "verification," but you just have to enter the serial number (VERY LONG) that comes on a card in the mail when you order this version. Upon download of the software, you enter this serial number and you're good to go. I don't recall it even asking your to register the software.

I have an older version of filemaker pro 12, and my the os on my new desktop imac is os10.13.4. how do i load fmp onto my computer? by internet? cd?

The files from FM pro 12 easily convert / adapt to FM pro 16. — I had thought I was purchasing a cd; instead what came in the box was a piece of paper with the license keys printed on them and instructions to download the program. That worked and then I easily typed in the license keys. I did have to pay for the upgrade. That was disappointing to me.

Can Version 16 save to Excel format?
