Surecan 2 Gallon Type-II Safety Container (Red)

A compact car built in the ‘70’s caused more pollution while it was parked than a modern full-sized car flying down the highway because old cars had no airtight seal on their fuel tanks. Likewise, the new gas cans tightly seal fuel against evaporation and prevent careless use protecting our clean air from unburned hydrocarbons. They are difficult to use. The Surecan is a modern gas can that seals well but is designed to be less difficult to use. The user swings the spout down into the mower’s fuel tank and presses a button. It deploys and then stores easily. It is easy to avoid spills. But, when I fill the mower’s tank to capacity and release the button to stop the flow I spill because fuel in the spout must also drain into the tank. I am sad to report that I foolishly did this a couple of times and that this rather long-winded review is my penance to my fellow breathers of our common air. So, fill the tank to something less than capacity. Then release the fill button and wait 2 or 3 seconds for the spout to drain. Then slowly lift the spout away from the tank to avoid spilling a drop. It should take no more time than a good waiter finishing a wine pour. The Surecan is a good gas can. You can buy and own with satisfaction

I saw this can commented on in a review for a Pressure Washer I purchased and got one based on that information. This is a great can and makes filling machinery a breeze... and safer! The only issue I have with it is in filling it... When I'm at the pump getting ethanol free its no issue but I often Re-fill from a larger can however can be an issue as the fill port has a seal that is harder to use on a plastic fill spout - not a deal breaker just mentioning it.. Great Can!!

love this gas can, i bought hubby one a couple years ago. in fact i got him the 5 gal. & the 2 gal. he's in his 80's now & can't lift the 5 gal. anymore. so i thought I'd get him another 2 gal. can. I got the extra 5 gal. can for me or a Christmas present.

Purchased the 2.2 gallon SureCan to use for my gas/oil mixture for the 2 cycle toys (chainsaw, trimmer, leaf blower, snow thrower etc.). I also own the 5 gallon version that I use for plain gas. I love not having to tip a gas can over to fill up the tools. The trigger is easy to use and the gas spout is adjustable making filling the tools easy however, a small amount of gas continues to come out after you release the trigger. The spring loaded gas filler cap is ok especially on the 5 gallon since I dont mix that with oil. That being said, I found mixing oil in the 2.2 gallon version of the SureCan to be cumbersome. You can't easily dump a small container of oil in the SureCan with spilling it everywhere so you are left with basically 2 options. Option 1, use a funnel... works but not ideal. Option 2, trim the filler cap safety lock to be able to unscrew and remove it. I chose option 2 and im confident many others have as well. The only other "issue" I have noticed with the SureCan is it's ability to implode or collapse. Ive never had another gas can do this. Simply setting the SureCan out in the sun will reverse this process but I would imagine after a while of expansion/contraction there will be stress fractures in the plastic leading to leakage.

I've had a few gas cans for several years and they won't go down the filler neck on a car without starting to spill out. Even the newest can with that infernal valve you have to push in to make it flow is a pain in the backside to use, especially on a lawnmower. The Surecan doesn't have to be tipped up - the filler hose swivels down and doesn't start to flow until you squeeze the handle. It works on autos and I'm not spilling gas on the riding lawnmower anymore. A little pricey but well worth it. It takes two hands to get the cap off the filler hose, so I have to set the can down, but I can live with that. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

Seriously I’ve had three SureCans’ now and they are all amazing. They really are the best way to fill up on the go and they are really leak/smell proof. This can being smaller than the other two I had seems to flow a bit slower, but that could also be because it’s a California model and ventilation is probably nonexistent. I can’t say for sure. Works great still. The other ones I had I got in Arizona and were blue kerosene cans 5GAL but I used for gasoline and they were safe and great. My wave runner was blue so went blue although your taking that risk of having the wrong liquid and admittedly that’s not good for accidents and emergency crews.

Easy to use, looks cool. Doesn't spill as long as you account for extra gas left in the nozzle after you let go of the trigger. And make sure you get all the gas out of the nozzle before buying the cap on, or you'll have a little spillage on the next fill up when you take the cap off. Just common sense things, ya dope

I like it because you don't have to tip it to fill your lawnmower or whatever. I was concerned because one reviewer said that this can was difficult to fill (at the gas station) because of the child safety feature on the cap, and I have three thoughts on that: 1) I just filled mine at the gas station and it's not that difficult. 2) It's way way better to have it be a little difficult to get the cap off to fill it once a month, than to have it be difficult to pour every time you go to use it, which is the problem with most gas cans these days. And 3) If it really bothers someone because of lack of hand strength, it's pretty easy to figure out how to snip one end only of the little piece of plastic that constrains the filler cap, making it a easier to press down while still retaining the child safety aspects of it.

I bought one of these cans recently so my review is from a new owner perspective. It's a bit pricey for a gas can and the switch and seals make for a more complex design that might prove less reliable over the long term, but it keeps gas off my hands and avoids spills as advertised. It's also made of much better and thicker material. I like it.

This can was made to perfection. No mess easy filling no lid or gas cover spout to touch. I cannot say enough good about this can. I also bought utility jug Update July 21 2023 This can is amazing in all aspect except one, if it fet knocked over it leaks. I'd still recommend though

Easy to use!

I admit that it was too expensive including shipping but it is a guilty pleasure for me and we don't have anything like this in Canada.
