Old school fixings for trailing plants
Yes very good items but would recommend drilling pilot holes in mortar first

Great product
Overall very happy with these. A good sized hole lets even two wires through although on one pack the hole was very close to one side but in spite of that they hammered in without any damage. I would certainly buy again. They should last for many years. Good and solid.

Not very strong!!!
Unfortunately, several of these bent when I tried to hammer them into the mortar between bricks... I see I'm not the first to have this problem - I suggest you try to buy some more robust vine eyes made of sturdier metal! I see that the recommended solution is to drill pilot holes first - that’s fine, but how about a note on the package telling us that??!!!

Ideal vine eyes for an old Victorian wall
These 100mm vine eyes are spot on for an old crumbly wall - the 75mm would simply not hold. Of course you normally have to drill a suitable hole to make them work effectively. Maybe the other negative review simply forgot to do that! And you keen gardeners don't forget that stainless steel wires are MUCH the best for providing trouble free support.
