What are the advantages of having a short handle like this?

I have been wet shaving for 7yrs and I have many too many DE razors tbh… from $30-$180 and this shaves the best IMO. Every DE razor has an optimum angle for shaving and most are trial and error but this has the most intuitive feedback, coupled with the weight and perfect length. The only drawback is you have to center the DE blade when loading it, as it will have more exposure on one side than the other usually. It’s really not a big deal once you drop the blade in to align it anyways. The metal is pot metal so it’s not indestructible and will chip if dropped on a hard surface. Mine chipped a tiny piece on the bottom baseplate when dropped in the bathroom but was still useable but I lost it in a move. With all that said I’m here leaving this because I’m buying another one. Best starter razor (advanced also) you can buy… just throw away the junk Merkur blades and buy a sample pack or literally any other de blade than German DE blades. Personna Lab Blue, Astra Green, Voshkod, Gillette Nacet, Wizamet, Feather (Feather blades are the sharpest DE blade in the world btw) will work fine. But the razor is great and I usually don’t write these but Amazon has so many fake reviews these days I figured it might help someone. Happy shaving and take your time if you’re new to wet shaving because it can take up to a month to learn technique but it’s like riding a bike after that

Solingen Germany . Its a nice hunk of metal I don't think I would ever have to buy another razor for the rest of my life. I wasn't crazy about the Merker blades though. The Wilkinson Sword are pretty good, and the feathers I like the best. I gave a few away as gifts and everybody loved them .
