Post surgery ear haematoma recovery
I got this for my dog to wear whilst recovering from surgery on his ear haematoma. I knew he would hate the normal stiff clear plastic cones you get at the vet. He wears the cone at night to sleep in so his ear is getting air. He seems comfortable especially as the cone is padded and I chose the black colour so it's nice and dark for him. It's not heavy and once he got used to the feeling of it he can move around easily and even jump on the sofa. The material is easy to wipe down with wet wipes to clear up anything like drool or wound fluid. The spines which hold the cone shape can be taken out so it can be properly washed which I'll be doing soon as well. The softer design means that when you dog is getting used to wearing the cone and they catch it on things or people it doesn't hurt the dog or you. My dog doesn't wear this outside but I think the reflective trim on the edge is a great idea for dogs who do wear this out, especially on the black design. The only minor negative is the velcro is pretty loud when pulling it apart and some dogs won't like this. For mine, it's his cue to try and shake his head or scratch his ear but I've learnt to be ready for this. It's not nice for him for a moment with the noise but it's very secure when fastened and an extra bit of velcro is even given to stop any exposed bits getting stuck to blankets and such which is a lovely additional and thoughtful touch. I have hand fed him in the cone several times, like you would a horse with your hand flat and him stood up and given him water from his travel bottle with a trough (advice: get the dog to stand and look down to drink or you'll flood the cone). The material is waterproof so I wipe it with a tissue to get any drips after. I have no concerns about the cone staying on as it as loops to attach to the dog's collar. I don't keep him in it 24/7 as he wouldn't eat from his food or drink from his bowl when he wishes but he sleeps overnight in the cone and spends part of each morning and afternoon in it napping or laying on the sofa being spoilt with attention and treats to make up for the ear pain. I am so glad I decided to buy this. My dog is comfortable wearing it and his ear is protected from attempts to scratch it or rub it on people or things. The wound gets air which for an open wound like a post surgery ear haematoma is fantastic.

strongly recommend - alot less suffering for dog compared to hard rigid plastic vet cone - really pleased with purchase
would strongly recommend this dog cone, it is exactly as described , and made from good quality sturdy material whilst still being soft and comfy on my dog - my Rottweiler had an ear operation (pull through) and has been dying to scratch the dressing on his ear with his back legs and potentially destroy the vets good work so the cone was a big must! He hated the very hard rigid plastic cone supplied by the vets , as did I! it has no give in it, doesn't bend if he crashes into things , hard around his neck (poor dog) and just horrible! so when the vet said he needed to be wearing a cone for at least a couple of weeks, I looked into more comfortable cones - and I'm so happy I went with this one! I had to order the extra large and it fits perfectly , its soft on his neck and has some give in it when he walks into things etc, but is also rigid enough to protect his poorly area from being scratched and cushions it if he try's to rub his head against things. Also you can take out the reinforced strips to keep the cone structure out which allows you to fold the cone back for more visibility, eating feeding etc. Although I do personally take to cone off for feeding etc as I just feel he can enjoy his food better that way - but I monitor him the whole time when cones off. All in all I'm super pleased with this cone, its made us both a lot happier and him a lot more comfortable!! Thanks comfy cone :)

Great, but probably need bigger size!
We purchased this for our adult female golden retriever after TPLO (knee surgery) Pros - * comfortable & she could sleep easily in it * did not bash much as the material offers some resistance * easy to keep clean & wipe down Cons- * reduced visibility for pet as it’s not see through * large was not quite deep enough to completely stop her getting to her wound once it became itchy & she became more irritated * the Velcro strips that go around the cone collected a bit of grass/fur after a while.. For longer term use I would really recommend this, but maybe get a bigger size than you first think - there are good adjustments to make the cone smaller if needed

Good cone
Good device though poor dog did not enjoy wearing it it was a lot kinder to wear than other cones Now using it on my other dog and it is working realy well. It is very easy to put on and take off and also to manipulate, so it can go around head when sleeping and fold back when walking, still stops her reaching her wound even when folded back. I tell her it's her super hero cape! It can also be bent up from this position another useful adaption when relaxing in the sitting room, she can see and sit comfortably but still not reach her wound. Yes it cost a bit but I have almost covered my costs by not having to pay out for the nasty plastic ones the vets usualy use and charge for, plus dog is definitely happy enough to wear it all day because it can be adapted to her activities. Very Happy😄

It puts the dog into darkness all they can see is straight ahead!
It is not soft it is extremely stiff, and when the dog has it on, they’re quite frightened as it feels like they’re in a tunnel because they cannot see anything except straight ahead I felt it was a thing of torture. I have cut it up so no other dog has to suffer from it. I’ve since learnt it’s much better to get a doughnut colour.

Avevo già usato in passato quelle gonfiabili. Sono senza dubbio i più confortevoli. Ma non sono adatti a tutti i casi. Questo invece è perfetto per ogni necessità. Un po' caro, ma è un prodotto di qualità. Consigliato l'acquisto.

This has been perfect for our lab/collie mix dog. She's about 48lbs and we got the Large. Fits her perfectly so she can't get at the hot spots we're trying to have treated during this allergy season. It's a little more expensive than some of the other cones, but so far it has been durable, she's comfortable and has been able to sleep in it fine, and the velcro is STRONG, so she's not able to just toss it off. Be forewarned - the velcro is very durable...she had her head on my husband's feet at one point, and got stuck...the velcro stuck to his socks. Which for entertainment purposes was hilarious, but it is something to watch out for. Like anything, dogs shouldn't be unsupervised. But all in all, worth every penny!

Se coloca muy facil y mi perro esta mucho mas comodo que con los collarines de plastico. Buen material y duradero.

Wasn't sure if this was worth buying but was SO glad I did. Have used it with both our dogs now for different ailments. One had an operation and was in the collar for two weeks. The other had a rash for about 3 weeks that we needed to keep her away from. THe ability to keep it farily rigid with the stays in, or make it fold back with the stays removed, is AWESOME! Dogs adapted to it so quickly. Easy to wipe down with a cleaning cloth to keep fresh. A thorough clean once we were done with it and it's folded away in the cupboard for next time.

My dog was in a cone for 2.5 months after 2 operations. The vet provided the cleaer hard plastic cone which was very uncomfortable for my dog and caused him to bash in to walls and my legs. I got this comfy cone after seeing good reviews online. I highly recommend it - my dog was as happy as you can expect in a cone and could comfortably sleep anywhere. Thanks for making this!
