10QT Organic Perlite Horticultural Soil Amendment for Plants and Enhanced Drainage Enhanced

I’ve purchased this Perlite 14 times, in various sizes ~ 10, 20, 25, and 30 quart. Every single past order has been exactly as described. Large, chunky Perlite. Exactly what I want. I live in Texas and it’s very hot. All plants are outside from spring to early fall. I have a lot of Cacti, Aroids, Pothos, and more.i started using a perlite from big box store- the tiny stuff you see in lots of plants. I mix my own soil for every plant and I found that using that tiny stuff- it was “melting” and making very hard rocks that did not peat the soil drain or roots to breathe- which is super important to grow healthy plants. I found this Perlite and bought the 10qt bag to see if I’d like it. I LOVED it. Perfect sized- not all uniformly the same sized- but that’s what makes it so perfect. Perlite is used primarily as a soil amendment in gardening to improve aeration, enhance drainage, and prevent soil compaction. It creates tiny air pockets that help plant roots breathe and prevent root rot. It is not used to hold moisture in soil, like many people think. I’ve read many reviews where people say this isn’t Perlite. Said there are rocks and ceramic etc mixed in. In my 14 purchases- I’ve had a few pieces of perlite that had black/grey/blue-ish stuff on one side. IF you know anything about perlite- you know it is made from Volcanic Glass- Obsidian. That is what the black stuff is. It IS PERLITE, it’s just raw, unpopped. It’s not rock, not ceramic. Now, this purchase had me a little upset. It was the amount of dust that came in this bag. In my past purchases- I never had this much. Never! I actually swept up as much as I could and put it in my largest measuring cup- it’s 8 CUPS. I had 2 full 32oz cups and a 3rd one that was almost a 1/4 full. Put in the measuring cup- it is just over 7 CUPS. (See my photos). I strain all perlite in my old colander to get most of the dust out…thankfully I do this outside (HINT, HINT). Before I add this Perlite to my soil- I want it to be sure it’s a dust free as I can get it. I was going to take a star off because of how much dust there was- but I won’t take away from how great this product is. Before using this perlite my plants were good. But now that I use only this perlite- I’ve repotted almost all of my 115 plants, and the growth and health of every single plant is amazing! (See pics). I highly recommend this PERLITE for any gardener. I will continue to purchase for my needs.

I've read quite a few of the reviews for this perlite and notice that the size of the product available to the seller must vary somewhat. My personal experience with my purchase so far has been 100% great. The order arrived on time and was shipped well contained in a sturdy plastic bag inside of a box. I first opened the bag while it was still in the box and I was amazed at the size of this perlite.. I think it's bigger than what's pictured in the listing of it. I love it!! I washed it outside on a cement surface in big plastic strainer bowls and there was MUCH LESS dust than any other perlite that I've ever used (and I've used a lot). I expect to be buying any future perlite here. This chunky perlite is extraordinary. My thanks to the sellers.

I was very pleased with the cost and quality of this perlite. There was dust, but that's going to happen when you are shipping perlite, especially Amazon delivery lol These chunks are huge and there are a LOT of them.

Great product! The perlite arrived clean with very minimal dust or fine particles, even after rinsing. It’s high quality and exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely be purchasing this again.

I ordered a 10 QT first, but after opening the box and repotting one of my Hoyas, I went back and ordered the 50 QT! This stuff is perfect! It is exactly what you need for plants that love chunky soil. As for size, I was actually surprised at how large the pieces were. At first look, I thought they were too big, but after some research, I found out this is just high-quality stuff! I highly recommend! I will be repotting my 200+ tropical plants and Aroids using this stuff!

The first order was perfect, the second order was HUGE perlite, super chunky and not appropriate for my aroid and monstera substrate mix. The first order was a size 4 and perfect for for chunky mixes for aroids and monsteras. Some powder, but not a lot. It was clean and works well for drainage. I don't know what the size of the second order (I reordered the exact same product) is for. At the correct size (4), it aerates the soil and keeps the soil from staying too wet, has no smell, and had very little dust. I am going to give this seller one more try.

These perlite pieces are large and super chunky, perfect for adding to soil or your preferred growing medium for larger plants. I wouldn’t recommend them for younger or smaller plants, but for bigger ones they work perfectly. You get a really decent amount, and I’d definitely purchase again. Great quality!

Quite Dusty but I expected that. Good size nuggets that work well for my monsteras. Value for money, I would say worth it. My plants love it, I haven't had issues with them floating on top and mixes well with soil.
