Walt Disney seems to have had a special affection for Lewis Carroll's "Alice" stories. "Alice's Wonderland" (1923), a short about a live-action little girl in a cartoon world, led to his first successful series, the "Alice" comedies (collected on Walt Disney Treasures: Disney Rarities--Celebrated Shorts, 1920s -1960s ). During the early '30s, he talked about making an animation/live-action feature of "Alice in Wonderland" with Mary Pickford in the title role. But almost two decades would elapse before Disney released his Alice . It's the most uneven of the classic Disney features, juxtaposing brilliant and dull sequences. The Mad Tea Party, the Queen of Hearts' Croquet Game, and Alice's encounters with the Caterpillar and Cheshire Cat fuse the spirit of Carroll's words, the vitality of the polished animation, and the stylized look and brilliant palette of designer Mary Blair. But the song "I Give Myself Very Good Advice" and the unsatisfying adaptation of "The Walrus and Carpenter" bring the story to a halt. Disney's Alice in Wonderland remains a beloved film, and its better moments are truly magical. --Charles Solomon In this animated Disney version of Lewis Carroll's stories, young Alice (voiced by Kathryn Beaumont) is transported to the bizarre Wonderland after following the March Hare (Jerry Colonna) down a rabbit hole. There she encounters the grinning Cheshire Cat (Sterling Holloway), joins the Mad Hatter's (Ed Wynn) tea party, and falls foul of the ill-tempered Queen of Hearts (Verna Felton) during a game of croquet. Review: Mr. Rabbit! - This film is a timeless classic and will always be one of my favourite Disney classics. The HD of the blu-ray makes the movie look new and updated without taking away the charm of the original movie. The extras on the disc are phenomenal which I really didn't expect, there are interviews with the original girl who played Alice in Wonderland who is now grown up and much more. All in all, a lovely little present to myself. Review: Very creative. - This is a Blu-Ray review. A fantastical, surreal movie. With tons of bonus features including making of's and an interactive game.

Alice In Wonderland (Limited Edition O-Ring Sleeve)
I'm a massive Disney fan and think the O-ring sleeves look fab. It's a bit expensive just for a DVD but the cover is a limited edition and it's Disney. Delivered quickly in a 'new' condition as stated.

Timeless Classic.
As my on-going crusade to bring old cartoons to the new generation, I purchased this to watch with the children. Both loved it. A Timeless classic and well worth the purchase.

carelessness disrespect and partly misleading ...
the blurays i ordered, with those beautiful slipcovers, were sent carelessely unsealed without any form of respect for the customer, in inadequate large envelopes which do not provide enough protection from damage and rough handling. the result was, that nearly all of them had a damaged slipcover with scratches all over the place and even some corners even were damaged. i bought 13 classics from this editio, all sold by amazon and not by an extern seller, were meant to be a nice, lovingly disney collection. from those 13 items, only 2 were in a plastic seal so that the glossy slipcover would be protected. now, i truly regret bying them, as the purpose why i bought them was not met, due to the scratched slipcases which now just look ugly. i would never had thought, that amazon itself, would show that much disrespect towards theie customers and treat their items, bought by their customers, so dismissively. the beauty and the beast was not even with a slipcover and thus the picture on the site is misleading. this should never have happened. the nice shinny pictures are in reality unprotected scratched slipcovers with in a few instances damaged corners. all that came in my mind were these 3 words: carelessness, disrespect and misleading ...

Classic Disney!
Always loved this movie amd glad the classics are on blu-ray. Would have given 5* but it did not arrive in the shiny sleeve and cover is totally different. Also it is not the classics range disc inside. Those discs are beautifully presented, this is an earlier "60th anniversary" edition with a very plain disc. Not great for the serious collectors.
