Nikon COOLPIX S6300 16 MP Digital Camera with 10x Zoom NIKKOR Glass Lens and Full HD 1080p Video (Blue)

I am and always have been skeptical of buying digital cameras. This is the cheapest entry and also one of the newest from Nikon that has a CMOS sensor rather than a CCD sensor. Let the argument go on who is better. When the lighting is sun light, the Nikon shines and creates wonderful photos. Low light, of course, is a typical offender of ruining a good picture. If the flash is used, most of the time it does a good job to make everything look natural and not "over-toned" in anyway or display odd contrast properties. I think this is a great product and really sells itself when you view the information offered on Nikons web site. 5/14/2012 UPDATE : The flash stopped firing. I went through the reference manual and played out all scenarios in which the Flash should fire and it is not. The flash has been deemed defective my Nikon and I have been granted a return authorization. This is upsetting but I hope Nikon can give a quick turn around with my camera or just give me a new unit all together. I really do enjoy the camera when it works! 5/24/2012 - 6/12/2012 UPDATE : I finally got the camera back from Nikon, parts hold made it longer than normal. I was quoted in 7-10 business days I would have the camera back and that was not true. 13 business days and a whole lot of horrible communication. I would never buy a Nikon product after the customer "service" I received. When my Canon scanner broke, without hesitation, they sent me a new scanner and said stick the old on in the new box and attach the pre-paid shipping label. Said it would take 5-7 days and it arrived in 2 days. Canon > Nikon in customer service department. 2/1/2013 UPDATE : Camera still works, takes great pictures, has great battery life. I cannot say a terrible thing about the camera when it works. Yes it was annoying after it broke shortly. Yes, Nikon was over the "scheduled" time period of replacement, but it works now and still takes great pictures. They made this one cheaper, recently, so it is even a better buy unless technology did a 180* in some other direction I am not aware of. 7/27/2013 UPDATE : Camera still taking great pictures, great battery life, great quality shots when the lighting is there. The only thing that I dislike is what I believe to be the most common fault of all point and shoot cameras which is the low light level pictures tend to lose a bit of quality. Sometimes the automatic color picks the incorrect filter but can you really blame the device when light bulbs come in so many different temperatures now a days? I have three different temperature light bulbs in my house, some share the same room and it can throw off the auto colors, a few quick and painless button selections and you can choose your own color filter to make the picture match the natural colors you are trying to capture. During close up shots, the flash can be a bit over bearing but rarely does this happen.

This camera is absolutley amazing! There was not a single damage i can notice. Takes pictures great and all fuctions work like new! Im not going to lie i saw bad reviews and was scared, but this was better than i could of ever thought! Connects to wifi very easily and is lightweight. The battery life is extremly good for such an older camera.

I purchased this camera for our trip to Europe. I also purchased the hard case to protect it. We wanted a small camera that would easily fit in my purse or around our neck. The first day, it worked great, and the picture quality was excellent. On the 2nd day, the battery died within just a few hours into our sightseeing day, and the shutter lens became stuck in the open position. I carefully put it in my purse until we returned back to our room. I charged it, and the lens still will not close. The entire camera will not function. We have tried removing and replacing the battery, and it absolutely will not do anything. Because of the length of our trip, I am not able to return it. We spent over $200 for a camera and case, that does not work. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

I have had this camera for about four months. My final verdict is I love it and here is why. 1. It is user friendly. I was able to figure out how to use it without using a guide. Will except for the formatting of my SD card, I had to make a service call for that one. (Service rep was friendly and helpful) The camera took two good pictures when I first got it, then froze up, and would not take any more pictures. I came to find out it used all of its internal memory and since my SD card was not formatted the camera had no were else to go. Once I formatted my SD card it worked great. 2. The options. I like the fact that I can choose to take 16 mb picture down to VGA quality picture. It does the same with the video. It has about 6 different video/ picture gradients to choose from. The fun features it comes with is well just "wow". I love the sepia and all the different scene shots. I Love the continuous shooting options. I do have more trouble getting crisp pictures from this, though. 3. The video is so amazing. I can hardly believe, that I own a point and shoot camera that takes video at such an amazing quality. It still blows my mind. I almost think the price of the camera is worth this feature alone. And recording is so easy just hit the record button. Love it, absolutely love it. 4. The auto focus mode. It takes really good idiot proof pictures. Not the auto scene mode just the plain full auto mode. They are Crisp, vibrant and everything I want in a picture 5. 10x optical zoom main reason I bought the camera. It works great. I researched this camera heavily before I purchased it. The battery system is not a problem for me because, [...] I made this purchase on amazon at the same time. I now have three batteries and really good recharger. Yes this camera can take terrible pictures. I have taken some, but I would like to know of a camera that doesn't. All of my bad pictures, I blame on me the photographer and not the camera. But one of the short comings of this camera, that I have noticed, is that I have gotten a lot red eye shots with the flash. I did not expect this and have not made the verdict if it is me or the camera, because in my research others have gotten great flash shots without the red eye. Bottom line this camera has met or surpassed all of my expectations and was worth every penny I put into it, and I gladly recommend it to anybody looking for a good point and shoot camera.

Noy good at all, no charger lead and it's proving very difficult to obtain

Fotocamera Fantastica, rapporto qualità prezzo onesto. La qualità dell'audio nei video è veramente cristallina e continuo tutt'oggi a rivedere video filmati nel 2014/15 su uno schermo in 1440p e non ci sono difetti evidenti o mancanze che mi fanno dire "non vedo bene", qualità invidiabile, dopotutto Nikon difficilmente delude su queste cose. Ad oggi ci sono modelli molto più qualitativamente alti ma questo resta una piccola perla del passato. Consigliato!

Die Wahl (auf dem mittlerweile unübersichtlichen Markt an "Kompaktwundern") hat es geschafft 4 verschiedene Geschmäcker und Fokusse unter einen Hut zu bringen. Obwohl unsere Familienkompromissentscheidung auf schwarz fiel, sei doch die große Farbauswahlmöglichkeit erwähnt. Die Cam überzeugt schon durch ihre Maße und das geringe Gewicht. Sie ist sowohl für jede Handtasche, als auch für Parkmöglichkeiten in Hosen- oder Hemdtaschen geeignet. Die Bedienung/Menüführung ist easy und selbst für technisch talentfreie wie mich geeignet. Schon beim 1. Ausprobieren, ohne das Handbuch gelesen zu haben, entstanden (in- wie outdoor) richtig gute, scharfe Fotos. Welche später in größerem Format ausgedruckt, auch meinen diesbezgl skeptischen Mann überzeugten. Für mich ist der Automatik-Modus genial. Meine Restfamilie erzielte durchwegs tolle Resultate mit den diversen Einstellungsfunktionen. Die Kinder waren am meisten begeistert von den Nachbearbeitungsfunktionen (schon in der Kamera. Erwähnt sei auch, daß Fotos im Dunklen, wie auch bei Gegenlicht gut gelungen sind. Mit ein Entscheidungsfaktor für die Kids war die Videofunktion in HD-Qualität. Bis auf ein leichtes Rauschen, haben die Testvideos dann auch uns überzeugt. Sehr gut ist, daß der Bildstabilisator wie erhofft funktioniert. Unscharfe Bilder gab es keine bisher. Etwas Negatives ist vielleicht teilweise die Speicherzeit nach einer Aufnahme. Ansonsten hat die Kamera wirklich all unsere verschiedenen Wünche und Bedürfnisse erfüllt. Das umfangreiche Zubehör ist gut durchdacht, es muss lediglich durch eine seperat zu kaufende SD-Karte erweitert werden. Für diese Kamera spricht die simple, logische Bedienung, die vielfältigen Nutzungsvarianten, die Maße, die Spielereien (besonders wichtig für unsere Kinder), das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis und natürlich die gestochen scharfen Ergebnisse. Als Familienallroundkamera nur empfehlenswert.

Bonne qualité de vidéo en HD et les photos sont réussies. J'ai du mal pourtant à lui mettre une bonne note étant pointilleux en photo, mais bon, on a à faire à un appareil de poche à pas cher, donc au final il est pourtant vraiment pas si mal. Le zoom est top et la stabilisation d'image efficace. On retrouve tous les réglages de base habituels sur ce type d'appareil. La batterie tiens bien, en tout cas au début, et heureusement puis qu'on ne peut pas mettre de pile. C'est un appareil classique de poche pour baroudeur et touriste ayant à faire quelques photos occasionnelles quoi. Il fait le job, c'est pas très cher. Ensuite penser à ne pas juger toute la marque Nikon sur ses appareil grand public. Mais je le recommande allez, dans la catégories des moins de 200 euros quoi. 3,5 étoiles.

EDIT So nun muss ich meine Rezension doch nochmal aktualisieren...von 3 auf 1 Stern DAS GERÄT IST EINFACH NUR SCHROTT! Nach ca. 2 Wochen sind nun aus ein paar Pixelfehlern mehrere Spalten und Zeilenausfälle geworden. Die Bilder der Kamera sind im Durchschnitt schlechter als die meines alten Nokia 6300 Classic und die Panoramafunktion ist ledeglich ein Versuch etwas "Nettes" zu integrieren, da sie nur in den seltensten Fällen korrekt funktioniert. Da muss ich dann mit anschauen wie mein Kumpel mit seinem IPhone rekordverdächtige Bilder schießt während die Bilder der Nikon alle verrauscht sind und so gar nicht in die Erwartungshaltung einer aktuellen Digi-Cam passen wollen. Hier sieht man mal wieder...wer billig kauft, der kauft zweimal! Und so ist es auch. Mit miner neuen Casio Exilim bin ich wieder auf gewohntem Niveau angelangt...Nikon?...nie wieder in der Preisklasse! Das Gerät ist einfach nur schlecht und ich kann jedem raten die bereits von mir beschriebenen anderen Hersteller aufzusuchen! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vergleichend mit meiner Casio Exilim (ähnliches Preisniveau) enntäuscht mich dieses Produkt doch etwas. Nachdem das Objektiv der Casio einen Exitus vermeldet hatte, musste ein neuer "Gelegenheits-Knippser" her. Etwas wo man Ansprüche runterschraubt, dafür sich aber auch nicht ärgert, wenn mal ein Kratzer auf dem Display ist. Verarbeitung / Display und Objektiv Meine Casio hat Alles mitgemacht - Staub, Sand, Schnee - da war alles dabei. Die Nikon wirkt etwas schlechter verarbeitet - das Display ist sehr kratzanfällig UND, dass kann ich als Branchenvertreter sagen, eines der Billigsten die es auf dem Markt gibt. Schade! Zudem hatte ich gleich 7 Pixelfehler auf meinem Display - mir persönlich macht das nichts aus - die Bilder beeinträchtigt es beim erneuten Anschauen nicht. Das Objektiv ist geräuschintensiv und kratzig - funktioniert aber sonst einwandfrei und präzise. Elektronik und Software Meiner Meinung nach gut platzierte Knöpfchen aber ein sehr nüchternes Menü. Nur um wieder den Vergleich zu führen - Meine Casio hatte ein schöners farbenfrohes Menü und eine sehr benutzerfreundliche Bedienoberfläche. Das Fotografieren selbst stellt keine negativen Merkmale dar - ein wenig langsam ist die Nikon - aber das wurde ja bereits in den anderen Rezensionen beschrieben. Bei Nachtaufnahmen kann man sich schon mal einen Kaffe zubereiten, während der Blitz lädt. Wirklich POSITIVES Der CMOS Sensor ist "spritsparend" und der Akku hält sehr lange. Die Kamera ist leicht und handlich. FAZIT: Ich würde die Kamera wahrscheinlich NICHT noch einmal kaufen. Für den Preis ist Sie okay, aber eben auch nicht mehr. 16 MP sind übertrieben. Die nett gestalteten Werbespots blenden leider ein wenig die Realität - denn ein Meister bei Dunkelheit ist dieses Gerät mit Sicherheit nicht!!!! Kauft lieber ein Produkt, wo nicht alle €'s in Marketing und allerlei Kampagnen geballert werden. Olympus, Casio und Sony kann ich als preisgünstige Alternative empfehlen. Wer ein wenig mehr Geld übrig hat sollte zu Canon greifen. (Typenbezeichnunge lasse ich im gesamten Text mal bewusst weg) Euch allen ein frohes Fotografieren
