Can a can opener be simple? This can. Can a can opener be affordable? This can. Can a can opener open a can without making me wonder why I spent $20 to access beans? This can, and I appreciate that. This Good Cook safe-cut manual can opener is exactly the kind of can opener a can-opening person can appreciate. It is simple, sharp, and it can open a can cleanly without leaving those sharp can edges that can turn a quiet dinner into a kitchen-based medical event. It is not fancy. It can not connect to WiFi. It can not send alerts to my phone. It can not tell me how many cans I have opened this week, although honestly, maybe I do not need that kind of judgment in my life. What it can do is open a can, and sometimes a can opener that can open a can is all a can opener needs to be. The only thing I can complain about is that the price is now $3 cheaper than when I bought it. So yes, this can opener can open cans, but apparently it can also open old wounds. Still, these things are cutting metal lids off metal cans. A person can understand that eventually a can opener can wear out and need replacing. That is not a failure. That is just the hard life of a can opener in a canned-food world. For the price, this is a good little can opener. Works great but result was different than we expected - instead of cutting on the top of the can, it cuts around the side of the can just below the seam for the lid. This actually is excellent, because it greatly reduced sharp edges from the lid, and reduces the chances of any contamination (dirt, dust, etc…) that might have accumulated on the lid from getting inside the can. Additionally, because the top of the can and seam pop off - if you washed and dried the lid and container, you could probably re-use the cans for storage of other items, or for covert/secret storage. The cost was far below other can openers, and this can opener worked far better than other can openers we tried at the same price point. Highly recommended - this is now our go-to can opener. We like it much better than the other much more expensive name brand can openers that come in a variety of colors. This can opener is simple, doesn’t require cleaning afterward, and does its job well.

I have been using this to open various type and size of cans for a week now. A great purchase! Rather than *cutting* the surface of the lid, this device actually *lifts* the lid from the edge. You can a cleanly opened can. There's no worry about metal shavings falling into the food. There's no risk of you cutting your finger trying lift the sharp lid from the food. The lid itself stays intact and you can use it as a cover. This is a great gift idea!

This can opener works as intended: it opens cans cleanly with no sharp edges. The mechanism feels solid and it cuts smoothly. My two issues are that the lid does not always release from the can and sometimes the opener, and I have to wiggle it or pull it out by hand. It’s still a good, safe opener, just not perfect.

I really like this can opener. I've been trying to find one that opens cans without making sharp edges for a long time, ever since using one belonging to a friend that does so. I have tried several that have claimed to, but they all actually did make sharp edges, some of them on the can, and some of them on the lid. This one, though, is the real deal - neither the lid nor the can is dangerously sharp after you open a can with this. Highly recommend, never cut your hand on a can again! Pro tip: I think the rule of thumb is that if you can see the whole cutting wheel, it won't open the can with no sharp edges. Both this one and my friend's good one have a recessed cutting wheel, designed to cut through the rim where the lid meets the can (not on either side of it, which makes sharp edges)

I'm amazed I didnt know about this type of seam-cutting can opener. It's much safer, super easy to use and leaves zero sharp edges. It makes taking the stuff out of the can easier since no lip is left. And being able to use the top as a lid is a bonus. Also the blade never touches the food in the can and no metal can fall inside or contaminate the contents. The can also is now super easy to clean and rinse for recycle. I now use this to open even pull top cans, for all the above reasons. The only drawback I've even encountered is in one type of can with an odd shaped profile, I needed to cut the bottom end rather than the top, but that's hardly an issue. I sometimes foster a cat that eats half a can of wet food everyday, and this can opener will simplify managing that half-can tremendously. I don't get why this isnt the dominant design of can opener today.

This things works well to open all sizes of cans, including gallon sized. A good deal and a quality product. I have had it for nearly a year and still working well. Easy to wash and cuts the seam of the can so no sharp edges.

It is super easy to use AND easy to wash. There's no sharp edges on the can after using it, and there's a "lid" that you make that you can use to re-seal the can that you've opened. I personally use plastic wrap on top of the can as well, but it beats using plastic wrap on top of an open and sharp container. I've since bought this can opener for the rest of my family, and they've been praising it as well. What's crazy is that this costs around the same as regular can openers, but it's so much better.
