Punchy bass, clear highs and solid mids. It also gets pretty loud, though the speaker volume and phone output volume are linked. This can make fine-pitch volume adjustment slightly more difficult than some other options out there. Battery life is pretty solid! It takes a while to charge, but at high volume it can last the whole workday. I needed a new speaker for work (construction sites) and to take in my canoe/outdoors. The IP67 rating sold me on the VG1 over the VG3 and up. Hopefully I don't have to test it.

I have owned several Soundcast products and have been satisfied with all of them. The VG1 is no exception. Overall the construction and sound quality is very good for the price. I use it around the house, outside on patios and most importantly at the beach or on the lake, where its waterproof features are clutch! What you get for the lower cost compared to other brand names puts this product in front for me! Will continue to stay up on new products from Soundcast and purchase again when I am in the market again.

I like the sound of Soundcast speakers. This little bluetooth speaker is pretty good. It will distort at high volumes though. So, if your looking to rock out with this little speaker you'd be best to look elsewhere. If you want a good sounding speaker for background music, this will be fine. One other thing to note, Customer Service for Soundcast is horrible about responding to emails, they don't, so if you have a question ... good luck getting a response from anyone.
