Great for project cases etc
This is great stuff for making customised padded inserts to cases etc. When the package arrived I was initially disappointed because the four sheets together were only about a quarter inch thick in total and had indentations from the packaging. However, this was simply that they had been compressed for transit. Once I had released them from the shrink wrap they began to expand again. I advise leaving them for at least 24 hours at room temperature for them to fully regain their shape. They cut very easily and I advise using the longest sharpest modelling knife blade you can find, in which case they will cut very easily and cleanly. I used one of the retractable snap-off knives from Stanley, Draper, etc with the blades fully extended. You can also use scissors, but you will get a much cleaner mess-free cut using a long blade modelling knife.

Use the right tool to cut it.
Good and says what it is size wise is good. it can be quite difficult to get a clean cut I would not recommend using a knife as it can make a mess and not be accurate or look great.

Like a glove
This item arrives vacuum sealed and is almost flat, I thought I had read the thickness wrong until I removed the plastic and the foam began expanding. Perfect size for what I needed it for, I have used two of the sheets for my Hilti drill case, one on top of the other, I only had to cut out the top sheet as it is pretty thick. Offers great support and protection, it is pretty sturdy. It is easy enough to cut with a sharp knife.

Not quite the correct measurements
Wanted this to fill out a case that has about 9.5cms of empty space. I figured that two of these at 4cms thick would have fit in perfectly with another piece that came with the case which measures ~13mm thick. Unfortunately, one of these sheets measures at 34mm thick and the other 36. When they initially arrived vacuum packed, I thought "there's no way these two sheets add up to 8cm". I opened up the first plastic wrap, then the second, and then the third (yes, they are wrapped up in 3 bags in that first image). I then spent about 5 minutes fluffing them up, the way you would with a vacuum packed cushion or similar item. They puffed out to around 3.3cm each. I then left them for about 90 minutes to expand on their own. After this time, one measured at about 3.4cm and the other measured around 3.1 cm, as seen in the second photo above. I was quite annoyed but left them a little longer. The third photo is about 2 hours later so all in all, they have been put of their packaging for approx 4 hours give or take a few minutes (I didn't mark exact timing from opening!). The third photo shows that one measures 3.8cm and the other measures about 3.5 cm, so I am nearly 1 full cm thinner than I was expecting. In order to prevent the items in my case moving around, I will have to get my hands on another piece of foam at around 2.3cm to replace the one I already have, or around 1cm if I keep the other piece. I will leave the foam over night though, just incase it has a tiny bit more expansion in it. Overall, the foam quality feels nice and should work for my intentions (will post an updated image if amazon allows for it later). Cutting with a very sharp craft knife, fabric scissors or similar should be easy. It may even take a hot knife but I am not sure - I may do a test with some of the cut-off from the edges after i have cut it inside my hard case. Oh, just in case it matters to anyone, the length of the foam is about 40.9cm and the width is about 30.6cm. I need a few cms shorter on both of these and I knew this going into the purchase, so I am happy with those two sizes. Just the actual thickness that has me disappointed

The thickness is not the same as description
I bought this foam for special purpose and I believe it's thickness is accurate. However when I receive it yesterday and observed that the thickness is just only 3.5cm instead of 4. Disappointed. I tried to leave seller a feedback, but they have no response at all.
