No, this belt should not be trimmed.

Is the 40 inch size of this belt really 1.8 inches wide or is it 1 inch wider?

I measured it at 1 1/4 inches. I can't imagine where you could use a belt 1.8 or 2.8 inches wide. I know it shows on the site as 1.8 inches, but it's not!!

the 42 size is how many cms i bought the 38 and it is very short should i buy 42 or 44?

Size 38 measures 48.5 inches not including the buckle. It is 42.5 inches to the middle hole not including the buckle. Each size up adds approximately 2 inches.

Good reverseable belt

Belt looks great when it is new, also the buckle looks nice and it is secured to the belt in an excellent way. However after using the belt for some weeks the leather get slightly deformed around the hole, I seen it before on other belts where the leather belt is built up of several layes of material (which is needed for reversible belts), it usually shorten the liftime of the belt when the hole get bigger and more deformed after some time.

Very poor quality, cheap synthetic leather bought in full price 35 GBP. Fooled by Tommy Hilfiger brand name. Belt joint broke within 3 months, thrown in the bin.

Nice belt

I really like this belt. It is easy to change from one side to the other. The buckle part has red, white, and blue for the Hilfiger detail, but it’s pretty subtle, so I don’t think it clashes with any of my non red, white, and blue clothes. The belt fits as expected. I haven’t had it long enough to know how it will last, but it appears well made.
