Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids tablet | ages 3–7, 10.1" brilliant screen, parental controls, 2-year worry-free guarantee, 2023 release, 32 GB, Blue

We bought the previous generation of the Fire HD 10 Kids tablet in the blue case for our first son, and recently bought the newer generation in the green case for our second. We’ve been really happy with both, especially as we managed to pick up the newer one on sale for £120 rather than the usual £200. To be honest, we haven’t noticed any major difference in performance between the two generations. Both run smoothly and do everything we need them to, so I wouldn’t say you need to upgrade if you already have the previous model. The parental controls are good and easy to use. We can limit screen time and approve app download requests, which gives peace of mind without having to constantly supervise them. There’s also plenty of age-appropriate content included to keep them occupied. They’re also surprisingly tough. My sons regularly throw, drop and generally abuse their tablets, and both still look almost new! The kid-friendly case has clearly done its job, and the 2-year worry-free guarantee is another nice bit of reassurance. 32GB is plenty of storage for our needs, and everything runs smoothly. Battery life is also good enough to get through a full day of moderate use, making it good for travelling. Our only real criticism is the case colour. The green case is… well, it looks a little bit like an NHS hospital ward! 😂 It would be nice to see a wider range of colours in future. We only opted for the green to differentiate it from our other blue one. Overall, we’ve been very happy with both generations. It’s a sturdy, straightforward kids’ tablet with excellent parental controls, and at £120 on sale, I think it’s very good value.

A brilliant, kid-friendly tablet that keeps both kids and parents happy** I’ve tried a few tablets aimed at children over the years, and the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids (newest generation) has quickly become my favourite. It’s engaging, durable, and designed to make both learning and play safe and enjoyable for young kids, while giving parents peace of mind. I first bought this tablet for my child, who is 5, and from the moment we set it up, it was a hit. The 10.1" screen is bright and clear, making games, videos, and apps fun to use, and the tablet responds quickly without lag. The kid-friendly interface is intuitive, so even my little one can navigate apps independently, which has been great for building confidence. Parental controls are excellent. I can set daily screen limits, approve apps, and monitor usage easily, which makes me feel in control without needing to hover constantly. The content included — ads-free books, games, apps, and videos — keeps my child entertained and learning, and the age-appropriate filters mean I don’t need to worry about unsuitable material. The tablet is sturdy and designed for kids. It’s survived a few accidental drops without issue, and the 2-year worry-free guarantee adds extra reassurance. Storage is decent at 32 GB, and the device runs smoothly even with multiple apps installed. Battery life is solid, lasting a full day of moderate use, which is perfect for long car journeys or playdates. Overall, the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids tablet is a fantastic choice for children aged 3–7. It’s fun, durable, and full of engaging content, while the parental controls and worry-free guarantee make it a relief for adults. It’s a perfect blend of education, entertainment, and safety — I’d recommend it without hesitation.

I am a long term user of iPads, investing in apple ecosystem and expecting a certain level of quality. I purchased the Fire tablet 8 for kids last year for my son and was severly disappointed with the quality. It was really slow to respond (to anything), the image quality on screen was lower than I expected, but it was cheap and purchased through the prime day sale so I assumed this was the standard of tablet. This year, I caved during the prime day sale and purchased this for my son as an upgrade. The responsiveness is exactly what I would expect from a premium tablet. It is fast to use, the screen quality is decent with everything looking sharp. I couldn’t be happier, and for a quarter of the price of the cheap iPads I don’t see how Amazon can achieve this. No, it does not run the same apps, and is used entirely differently, but for my son this is perfect. We use this for trips, and we can download loads of content for offline use. I cannot state how good Amazon Kids is. We can loads it with suitable content, and he really engages with the educational apps, learning to trace letters and numbers and learning to read. He would not normally engage with some of these activities until he could hold a pen, so this is a great head start. We take it with us for road trips to keep him entertained in the car. The battery life is fine, but could last longer. This is probably the only criticism I have. If you aren’t in a hurry to purchase this, or you aren’t 100% sold, wait until an amazon sale day and get a huge discount. It is worth it. Plus with a years access to amazon kids, there is loads of content. We managed to find loads of digital copies of the books he reads at home, and he loves that we can read all of his favourite bedtime stories when we are travelling.

This is absolutely amazing. I got it for my 3 year old and he enjoys it well as there are variety of things to watch on it. Easy to set up and the battery lasts really long. It is sturdy with the proof case and I love the parental guidance on it. Worth the buy

Fantastic sound quality great picture got it for a great price very pleased with it..

In my opinion this tablet is an excellent tool that toddlers can use for learning and co-ordination. There are plenty of games and activities pre- downloaded on the tablet so can be used straight out of the box. Lots of excellent features for parents to limit access to certain things and usage. Picture and sound quality is brilliant considering the fairly low price. The case that comes with the tablet is sturdy and firm, multiple times has it been dropped and slightly mis-treated, no problems so far! The size of the tablet is perfect, not too large that it won’t fit into small bags, and not too small that it makes it difficult to use. I would like to see more colour variants and perhaps slightly better battery longevity, at times it seems the battery level drops really quick, particularly if it’s being used for games or videos. Overall I’m really happy with this purchase and think it’s great value, even more so when it’s on offer which seems to happen a lot!

Bought to replace our amazon fire 7 kids tablet. We use it with our 3 year old to teach him numbers, letters etc and its amazing. The touch response is fantastic and no long loading times either. Plus with amazon kids I can control what apps and content he can use and see, and he has to request a download for anything so no surprise apps either!

WOW JUST WOW AMAZON!!! YOU HAVE BLOWN MY MIND!! My 3 year old is non verbal, has sensory issues and potential autism, and uses this tablet he got for his 3rd birthday back in May 2026 everyday. Unfortunately we experienced an issue with the charging port. And was unable to charge the tablet for days. Multiple meltdowns from my son. I reached out to Amazon after multiple attempts to self trouble shoot and they offered me a replacement straight away with the 2 year worry free guarantee! We arranged to return the old tablet via to my door pick up, so no inconvience to me, and not only did they agree to replace the tablet, they sent out the replacement SAME day and I recieved it the following day ( a Sunday, never you mind!) And it came with a brand new child case too!! Even before ive returned the device ive got a brand new one and now my son is overjoyed. Wow just wow customer service at Amazon is TOP NOTCH. Very very pleased and impressed mama.
