Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles (Boxed Set): The Nixies Song; A Giant Problem; The Wyrm King

I bought this as a gift for my baby sister, as she has just turned nine recently and I am attempting to foster my own love of reading within her. Together with my mother, she had already set about reading and finishing the entire first series of the Spiderwick Chronicles before I found this one on Amazon. It's excellent for fans of the original series as it takes all of the characters from the original and continues on with their stories as they attempt to save Florida. My sister absolutely adored these and has since read them three or four times over. The boxed set is by far the best way of buying it; the money you save by buying the set rather than the individual books is enough to buy more books.

Our 3rd grader was obsessed with this series after seeing the movie! Great stories - with the perfect amount of fantasy to keep him interested and excited to talk to me about!

My 9 and 10 year old love this series. They couldn't be happier with the purchase. They are well bound and in a nice box.

Not as good as the original, but still has my 6 year old on the edge of her seat, excited about the next chapter. Personally love that the characters are REAL - they get angry, they have negative feelings, they struggle with relationships. I think the combination of real-seeming people with fantasy is really great...

The books are aimed at a younger audience, but that doesn't keep older people from enjoying them. Good story, good pictures and a fun read.

So, we're a reading family. I like to read to my kids most nights before bedtime. We absolutely adore the original Spiderwick Chronicles and this series is a worthy follow-up. It has new characters and new faeries. The characters are well-developed and the creatures are well-imagined. My kids have asked me to read this series to them more than twice and I catch them reading it on their own. Definitely worth the money to own in the Boxed Set.

My 9 year old loved the chronicles so these were a perfect Christmas present to expand her collection. She ploughed through them really quickly and enjoyed them greatly, couldn't seem to put them down. really nice looking books too with good illustrations to help the imagination.
