Eufy video door bell - Great buy and no subscription to pay - unlike 'Ring' currently charge!
Good product. Used the money I saved cancelling my TV licence to buy this - so I don't even have to open the door to the BBC sales rep! I considered Ring, but they want you to pay a subscription to access all the feature and I don't see the logic on cancelling the TV licence, only to pay a subscription to Ring! This video doorbell has been upgraded since I researched them on Youtube - It now has a great field of detection feature where you pull the points of a polygon to where you want them to create any shape/area you want; previously it was just a straight line of how far in front you wanted it to detect, so that's a great feature. You can even black out areas if you ant to, for instance, black out your neighbours lounge window to give them their privacy. The device stored footage on board or can upload. Once the on board storage is full it will just delete the oldest footage and continue to work. Images are clear and sound is fine, not perfect, but then it's not an SM58. You can set it to just notify you when the bell is pressed, or it can also detect people as they approach. It can be set to only detect humans if you want. The device (or rather, the app), if you want it to, can allow your phone to connect using its mobile network allowing you interact and receive alerts remotely. While at home it will use your wifi network. You can use pre-recorded replies if you like, so you just press a button to say, "Just a moment," or "sod off!" if you feel that way inclined. All in all, better than I expected so far. I would certainly recommend this. Also, if the detection field is turned on and someone decides to knock instead of ring, you still get a notification and are able to see live footage because they set the motion detector off. Night vision is quite reasonable and there is an extra function if you want the night vision in colour - just uses the batter up faster.

380 base, E340 video doorbell, E40 solar camera system. Wi
Installed today as upgrade to Eufy single video doorbell. Fabulous uprade and well worth the extra. Also upgraded the base 2 to base 380 and a 512gb hard drive as extra storage, i have also synced in two E40 solar cameras. System really easy set ifyou havee a modicum of common sense, also able read and or follow online instructions. Simple. System all up and running and results are great for quality. Tuis system replaces a several year old Arlo system that has served its purpose well, out of a seven camera set up, only 4 remain operable with 5 batteries remaining. Hoping this Eufy system lasts the test of time. Initial feeling it will be fine, well constructed, sturdy, great visible looks to ensure high visibility to would be wrong doers. Self adhesive window/door stickers to add to the visual noticeability. Video doorbell twin camera, battery looks good quality and a reasonable volume, purchased a spare battery as the five hour charging downtime being an i wont accept. Also purchased extra solar panel boosters as dontime due to not enough battery power when it is not sunny enough to produce enough power via the small inbuilt solar panel, agaun a non operational system is as good as none at all. Hooefully all my concerns are and will be proven wrong, if not i am covered 24/7 if the internet does not fail, the Arlo system automatically reboots itself fully after a power failure or internet failure. Hopefully this Eufy system will perform just as well under extreme conditions. Very impressed with the system upgrades it provides over and above the level of the Arlo system which has mainly been very reliable, hope that Eufy can equal or surpass the reliabity tests. In house recording so safety first with No storage fees, also have full control of drive contents within the safety protected home. 78 year old, if i can set this up, install everthing so anyone should not have issues. Very Happy with my purchase.

Pro’s and cons
I am currently on a quest to reduce my subscriptions a lot of which are getting out of hand due to their exorbitant rising costs. It may seem a little strange then that I have laid out even more money to purchase yet another door bell camera when I already own one that on the whole is giving me goid service. The fact remains at its current price the subscription free Eufy will pay for itself in 18 months. This is my main attraction for the purchase. The features included in the purchase price have impressed me and I am now thinking I may extend my quest to include my current wireless CCTV camera package that too has a sting in the tail with its rising subscriptions. The doorbell is easy to install and comes with the necessary fixings and brackets. It is recommended that the doorbell should be positioned at 1.2m for optimum positioning. Mine is slightly higher by choice. A USB A-C charge lead for the battery and a couple of wires to connect to an existing indoor chime, should you have an existing one fitted? Like a lot of electronics these days the doorbell relies heavily on an app for its setup and usage. The battery that’s included had some charge but requires a full charge before use. If that is your sole power supply I would recommend a spare as the charge time is lengthy. Changing the battery is straightforward. A pointed, pin like token is provided and inserted into the top of the bell. This in turn releases it from its backplate. Once installed the installation process I found easy. There were no issues connecting to my Wi-Fi network and in no time I had two, clear split images. Impressive in the daytime, equally impressive at night especially if the built in light is used transforming the image into colour. The app is feature rich with some features only available with an additional base station or with a subscription. The only concern being that without these additions the saved images are on the bell push itself and would be unattainable should the unit be stolen. There is one disappointment I have relating to the E340 and that is not having an indoor chime included I am reliant on my phone if someone comes to the door. A separate chime is available at cost but if I think back to purchasing a conventional doorbell it would be unheard of purchasing a push without a chime included at one time. My younger self would laugh at the idea of such things. As there is an Alexa skill I was expecting to be able to receive a chime through my smart speakers and although this is possible it’s only possible with an additional home base.

Value for money
The Eufy Dual Cam (E340) is the Security Nerd's Dream! Okay, I have to gush about the Eufy E340. If you've ever had a package swiped or just hated that you could only see someone from the chest up, this is the doorbell you need. It's the smartest, most complete security product I've ever owned, and it's completely worth the price—especially since you never pay a subscription fee! 📦 Why the Dual Camera Changes Everything The Second Camera is GENIUS: The main camera gives you that crisp, head-to-toe view, but the second downward-facing camera completely eliminates the blind spot. Now, I can see my dog, the floor mat, and every single package delivery perfectly. No more "where did the driver put it?" guesswork. Package Protection That Works: The E340 doesn't just show the package; it actively tracks it and alerts me if someone so much as touches it. It truly makes me feel secure about online orders. Wired Reliability, Wireless Freedom: This model gives you the best of both worlds. I opted for the battery because I couldn't run wires easily, and the battery life is surprisingly good. But for folks who want constant power, you have the option to wire it in! 💡 Smart Features & Performance Human Detection is Spot-On: It rarely bothers me with passing cars or shadows. It knows the difference between a person and a bush, which keeps the alerts meaningful. Superb Night Vision: The picture quality is amazing in the day (hello, 2K!), but the colored night vision feature is seriously impressive. It's not just black and white; you can see things clearly and in color, which is a massive help for identification. It Stores Everything for Free: I can't say it enough—NO MONTHLY BILLS! The local storage system is reliable and accessible right from the app. 💯 Final Verdict If you are serious about security and package monitoring, stop looking. The Eufy Dual Camera (E340) is a phenomenal product that delivers professional-grade features without demanding a monthly fee for them. It’s the ultimate set-it-and-forget-it security upgrade for your front door. Five out of five stars, easily.

Wanted this to be good to upgrade from Ring, but it promises much but fails to reliably deliver
I wanted this to be great, to get away from the Ring annual subscription, reviews said it was, but it isn’t. The good - it’s a digital doorbell with all the functions your would expect, but also has a separate camera facing the floor to spot left parcels and will alert you about them and keep an eye on them. Plus it stores video locally on the doorbells internal memory so no subscription needed. Swappable battery, though you do need to buy another one as the swappable spare. The bad - there is a problem with this doorbell which seems to be something deep down in its hardware or software, it doesn’t always pick up motion. I’ve had random days when it’s failed to detect any motion at the door, including residents leaving and returning, along with a number of different postal deliveries it them missed throughout the day. This despite it having a setting switched on to inform of motion detection and this being set to specifically alert to humans and set to maximum sensitivity and the doorbell provided a specific activity zone to monitor, I.e. the path in front of the door all as recommended by their customer service team. As it cannot be relied on to do half of its job then it’s not very secure to my mind. They provide a little sticker for you to pop in to your window showing that you are “protected by an EUFY security device”, It should say “you are protected if I feel like working on this occasion!” I also bought a spare battery to swap out the battery, as the built in battery and having to lose my doorbell when placing it on charge, was one of my biggest hates on my old Ring 2nd gen unit. The doorbell was going through a battery in less than a week on any off high quality settings, if lowered to less than maximum performance then it lasts a bit longer, may get a week or so, but in my experience you will spend you life and your electric bill constantly charging and changing the battery. There customer service statesmen it should last about 6 months on recommended settings, it in my experience it doesn’t. The Amazon integration works when it’s feels like it, but the required Alexa EUFY security skill has a rating of just 1.5 stars of 5, with many reviewers moaning that the motion alerts supposed to come l through their Alexa devices not working. I experienced this also, having 5 echo dots around the house and with the app set to announce motion and door bell presses at each device, sometimes a motion if, detected at all by the doorbell, would activate only on the EUFY app but with all Alexa devices remaining silent on the matter, sometimes a motion would activate only a single echo device and other times (less often) motion would announce as intended on the app and all echo devices, but not often enough sadly. I think there is a deeper fault for this device, there seems to be a fault at a core or software level and I wonder why they are not bothering to fix it via a software / firmware upgrade and fix the shocking poorly rated Alexa app integration, seems like they don’t care. I speak from the experience of having thoroughly tested 2 brand new units, as the EUfY customer service team were kind enough to send me a brand new replacement when I first contacted them with concerns over the original device not functioning correctly and burning through batteries. They sent me a brand new unit, which functioned as intended a few days before the same problems affected that new replacement device too. Got to hand it to EUFY, their customer service team were willing to send me yet another (third) replacement, but I think it’s a deeper problem as 2 brand new units have had exactly the same issue, so I would avoid this unit until EUFY sort their act out, as in my opinion this unit is not fit for purpose currently and I am returning now and heading back to the safety of a new Ring device with a swappable battery and will have to suffer Ring’s awful subscription plan, as I tried to get away and switch to EUFY, but sadly EUFY have really let me down with their seemingly flawed E340 doorbell. Great promises and intent, poor execution and delivery. One final note is the “locking” device of this doorbell, it’s rubbish. The doorbell clips in to a plastic holder/mount which is nicely screwed in, all good so far, but the unlocking device to release the doorbell from this screwed in mount is a small hole at the top and EUFY provide you with a long pin to stick in this hole to unlock and remove device or replace the battery. The device can be also unlocked by pressing the end of a paper clip in the hole or a cocktail stick or anything long and thin really. There are suggestions of finding a suitable screw and screwing that in to the hole online, but it makes you wonder why the manufacturer can’t think of that or make their device more secure. If you are not using the additional Homebase device for additional storage, then the video storage is held in the internal memory directly on the doorbell, a doorbell that can be stolen very easily if you can find something to pop in the release catch hole, like the end of a paper clip. Not overly secure to my mind and another big floor.

Eufy E340 with door chime is awesome when connected to a Ring 2nd Gen Plug-In Adapter.
This doorbell is an exceptional device when connected to a Ring 2nd Gen Plug-In Adapter. However, I must express my dissatisfaction with Eufy’s customer service, which I find to be subpar. These products appear to be designed with the intention of deceiving consumers. The Eufy Video Doorbell C31 offers 2K resolution and 24/7 security when connected to a 16-24V, 30VA transformer. These models typically utilize local storage, such as a microSD card. It is perplexing why Eufy has disabled the 24/7 function on the Eufy E340 model with the door chime connected. I purchased two or three of these devices from Amazon and returned them due to Eufy’s inability to provide support or disclose the truth. I had a Currys voucher available, but I was unable to find any suitable items to purchase. Consequently, I acquired another Eufy E340 with door chime and the Ring Plug-In, and to my delight, it continues to function effectively after eight months. I wanted an Eufy Eco system but all the hassle I had with the doorbell, eco system never gonna happen -Naughty Eufy. The updates always breaks mine Eufy just need to stop messing

Battery is the problem
Wanted to love this. Set up is easy, connects to the base unit easily, the parcel camera is also a nice add. Picture is clear, etc etc. but after 3 months, the battery life of the unit got shorter and shorter. A year in, we’re now at under a week. Which is very annoying. The solar security camera is great though…

Sorry Amazon, but WAY BETTER than a RING.. and no subscription!
We had a RING (like most people I guess, after recommendations from others). Bought the kit with video doorbell, internal sounder, spare battery, and internal sounder / extender.. all in all just under £200, but then we discover you have to pay another £50 a year to actually be able to use it properly! Super-stroppy RING customer services when I called up to ask about this too, so not impressed. Anyway, it started off ok and yes it is a novelty having a new video doorbell, but after a few months we were changing the battery almost every 3 weeks (and this was after tuning off a lot of the 'battery draining' notification features). In the winter we were lucky to get 10-14 days out of the battery, and our front door is recessed to not totally exposed to the elements. We put up with it but then came across the Eufy system at a friends house. Very impressed, works a treat, and has a home hub system for storing video and clips etc.. so no 'taking the pi*s' subscription. (FYI they do offer a subscription if you want that as a backup, but it is optional, not required for your system to function, and costs way less than RING). So far batteries are lasting a decent time (maybe 5-6weeks between changes). Ours has a dual camera for both human visitors and a lower viewpoint for parcels.... or delivery drivers that try to crawl up to your door without being seen :-( ?? The lower camera can detect parcels left at your door and let you now.. and will also ping you when the parcel has been taken. Install is straight forward, and literally guides you through it (the devises actually speak to you telling you what to do). There is the usual masking features, sensitivity settings, people / pet / car detections etc.. and an AI face detection feature too but I haven't set that up yet. Notification are good and the hub works a treat. It does take a few seconds to view a video clip when your phone pings, but we found no real difference in time between that the the RING cloud service (when it worked). Seems very well built, the tech works a treat, the home hub is a great idea and can even be extended by adding another drive if needed. The hub can connect / control other Eufy devices such as CCFTV, robot vacuums etc.. Would I recommend over a RING? For sure. Way better.

Dobry dzwonek
Dwie kamery, głośnik, AI, wytrzymała bateria i super wygląd to główne zalety. Dodatkowo braku jakichkolwiek opłat miesięcznych. Wady to niedopracowana AI bo nie zawsze rozpoznaje osoby i wykwywa ruch poza wyznaczonym obszarem co jest irytujące. Aplikacja do obsługi średniej jakości z błędnymi tłumaczeniami i błędami.

Riktigt nöjd
Antalet inbrott i området har ökat markant från nästan noll till hundra. Min granne tipsade om denna och jag är väldigt nöjd! Fina videos, även på natten.

Makes me feel more secure.
As advertised, my son set it up for me. Once installed easy to use. Very pleased that I brought it. I feel more secure being able to see who is at my door & then having the choice of opening the door or not. Would recommend.

Great Build & Clear Image, Call Quality & Volume Need Improvement
Overall, the product quality feels excellent. It can be directly wired to the home’s existing power supply and works with the original indoor chime. The image quality is also very good. Call quality could be further improved. There is significant noise on the mobile app side, especially when it’s windy, and the doorbell speaker volume is rather low and ideally should be louder. Hopefully, it can stand the test of time with long-term reliability.
