The black rubber cap on regulator. Do i take that off or leave it on?

You MUST leave it on. The black rubber cap is the seal that prevents any gas leakage.

Hi, will this fit European butane/propane bottles?

It was specifically for propane bottles (red) not butane. I think British and European bottles are the same.

Is this ok to use on a gas bbq because the one it came with don't fit the bottle

I used this to convert from a "patio" gas bottle to a standard propane. Patio gas is propane too but a named brand. The important thing is to check the pressure rating of the valve you have and the one you want to buy. I found a video on you- tube which demostrated the way to change it. Do take care though! Might be better to see if you can get the right gas bottle?

Would this work with a us to uk propane adapter? it’s for a blackstone griddle.

Hi not sure but it works fine on my Weber gas bbq - I replaced the Weber regulator with this one and used the existing Weber gas hose and the supplied jubilee clip to secure - works well for me - my BBQ was bought in the USA around 15 years ago.
